I do believe Miller eventually came out and apologised for the hateful anti-Muslim bigotry he spent the decade after 9/11 spouting. And Holy Terror is out of print everywhere now and not even available on Comixology, so I think he's ready to bury that too. I don't mean to invalidate the head of ShortBox, though. I think it sends a bad message to invite a noted (former) Islamophobe to a comic convention before he's paid proper penance for his former actions.

Shortbox, on the other hand, are at the loving forefront of indie titles and are a huge boon to the UK Indie scene and comics in general. Their work is at the core of what Thought Bubble claims to stand for and to rate this old-rear end racist over her is utterly horrifying. It's just absolutely hosed that the damage has been done. All the apologies in the world aren't going to do poo poo and, in fact, are just going to send yet ANOTHER wave of hurt on Zainab. I'm just so loving tired of this trash industry. "We will do better" means "We are waiting for you to forget this" As genuine as their apologies may be, the reality is that there's an entire culture of people who see an apology and conclude that's proof of CAnCeL CuLturE GoNE MAd. They put themselves and Zainab (and several other Muslim creators, I might add) in a loving disgraceful position and I just feel stupid thinking TB were better than that? I mean, all for Frank fuckin' Miller??

Yeah, to reiterate he's called a legend by the two ostensive "antagonists" of the book, both of whom died abjectly in the first issue, and he's portrayed as a paranoid and delusional idiot. The comic is not great and there are a dozen substantial critiques one could make of King but this is really taking something way out of context in a fairly disingenuous way on the part of whoever made that tweet.
