I'm starting to think that guy who sold an iPhone app for $999 that simply displayed the words "I am Rich" on your screen was just way ahead of his time.

Any company on any part of the spectrum from startup to indexed whatever who ever mentioned anything about blockchain did it to check a box to: a.) get more funding or b.) bump share price a little. No one serious about their business with any shred of success took it any further than PR. I look forward to being proven wrong about this

The religious fundies, and Epstein-connected billionaire backer, apparently got cold feet when they realised everyone immediately saw through them. Said elsewhere; much like the opposition to gay marriage, anti-porn religious crusaders have to try to dilute their messaging because they know how hated they are, and the companies they try to pressure are no longer fooled into thinking they have popular support.

Kinda wondering what would happen if someone made a webcomic where all the characters are just cryptopunks and cryptokitties and cryptowhatevers and they are just copied and re-used and modified wholesale for whatever the gently caress the artists wants to do with them edit: just a completely regular rear end webcomic, that does not mention cryptosporidium or its brain problems in any way Sort of like what happened with pepe the frog except instead of a cool artist getting their work hijacked it's Visa Ad by Khad fucked around with this message at 09:33 on Aug 26, 2021 |

What you ‘buy’ with an NFT is a sign that points at a thumbnail on a specific web server. Unless the artist specifically assigns you ownership of the original image you don’t actually own it.
