how in the hell does gladys still have any power in NSW? aren't australian politics pretty brutal and you can be voted no confidence out? because holy moly NSW is hosed and you can trace a line directly back to the two or three extra weeks they dithered and didn't want to lock down. it is just 100% cut and dry--every other place that saw covid cases at the same time locked down, dealt with it, and is recovering much better than NSW. i really don't see any way they are going to get this surge under control now--Israel went the same way, from low 100s to low 1000s and are now hitting 10k cases a day again. Was hoping NZ and Victoria state would get their most recent outbreaks under control quickly to make NSW's (and America's) total capitulation to viral spread even more obviously egregious, but guess that's not happening. Also just to be confirm NSW's dire COVID response and subsequent uncontrolled outbreak lead to it receiving extra vaccine doses compared to other states, and now the NSW govt is using hitting a vaccination threshold as an opportunity to further loosen restrictions? Hope it plays well locally, looks pretty shameless.
