Demons are weird because a big thing was made in the Aura arc that they supposedly have no interpersonal relationships, don't really understand the concept even, and yet the first one we see, the sage, declares that he'll fight Frieran as REVENGE for the king's death.

Could be a relic of the author not really having hammered out how demons worked at that point, or it could be implying there's something special about the demon king that made them different from regular demons.

Stir up a hornet's nest, kill the queen, they might experience something they might define as "revenge" if they had the power of speech. Blind stinging all the way down to oblivion.

Considering how demons are its a wonder they even got organized into a large enough army to menace the world. Also how the remaining high rank demons turned into glorified raiders. Were definitely going to get more insight on them as the party goes further into the northern lands.

Demon King probably acts as a controlling and unifying force. Without a King present, Colony goes apeshit.

I'd rather any kind of green apple over a red delicious. So good magic, but rather situational.

I Am Fowl posted:But why would you ever want a green apple? To take the comparably bland red apples and give them sour and zing.

This is just the good quality magic here. If you want a spell that makes Honey Crisps you got to finish an actual legendary quest for that kind of reward.

Weren’t apples supposed to have become steadily worse over the past fifty years? I remember that being part of the pitch for Honeycrisps: that they were trying to recover a bygone era where apples were bred for flavor as much as for hardiness or looks. The apples depicted in this series probably don’t have that problem, since there are no supermarkets or huge industrial farms. Now I’m jealous of Frieran. I’ve never seen a brand or variety of apple that’s like a “Honeycrisp of green apples” before.
