Yeah, there's nothing bad that can happen when oil is just laying out on the ground. It's quite safe, I'd gladly drink a glass of it to prove it.

I know it's better than the alternative, but it seems weird to hand-wave this away like Leslie Nielsen in Naked Gun.

If you think it's unconscionable to have a storage tank burst and dump a bunch of oil into the concrete pit it's built in, I have bad news about the entire petroleum industry.

So statisically it's probably the best location on earth to build a house as close to this location as possible, considering it's survived relatively untouched 5721 years ago? Survived weather, tetonic shifts, human interference, water levels, changing climate, self-substinance etc. Rad

You know if somebody didn't touch something and left it the hell alone for 5721 years then they probably had a pretty good reason to do so so nuh huh count me the hell out of that one please

Like there's a grody old stack of plates on the counter in the canteen that's been sitting there for like three weeks and you don't see me loving around with that poo poo now do you no siree

Did I put it there? Yes absolutely, but did I gently caress with it since? Nuh huh.

Oh hey, that's what my water does. Our private well has a iron bacteria infection and every once in a while you get Tang straight from the tap.
I posted in the plumbing thread about treatment.

Is doing this by hand really the easiest way? Surely there has to be a tool that's more efficient.

Don't see why. Just have an automated tool to twist it with the person guiding it seems much quicker and if his hands can do it then a simple tool could make it easier and quicker.

Slightly concerned about how loose the shoulder straps of his harness are and that it looks like he has a waist belt rather than leg straps.

More concerned that he doesn't appear to be tied off the anything :dogbutton:. His lanyard is clipped to his belt.

I think he's tied off... ish? There's a rope going up the follows him so it must be attached somehow.

Wow. A former employee of a company that sounds like Rational Weight.

Many years ago, a former co-worker of mine took a job there in their (self-retained) insurance department. He described trying to settle their claims. It sounded terrifying and hilarious.
