Spezza actually gets 6 games. One more than I thought he'd get, still reasonable.

Which, if upon further review, is true... would be actually really neat for some how organizing and creating 'bad luck'. I have the poor fortune of watching the Gophers try to do this to North Dakota for too many years. It would depend which size ice they played on. I haven't watched the Kraken as much as I'd like because trying to get around blackouts is more than I care to do, but when I have watched them, they've been mostly consistent with that. You can kind of spin them around the zone like a merry-go-round and eventually someone will miss an assignment or switch and the space will open up. Granted, you have to be sharp enough with your passing and cycle, but plenty of teams are good at this part. This does jive with them being good at low and medium danger chances and just bad at stopping high danger chances. When they breakdown, they leave big openings that NHL caliber players will be happy to exploit.

Yeah the Flyers at their 'best' under Hakstol would limit overall volume of shots but be awful at giving poo poo up in close. It's a relic of old college days and as good as NHL players can pass the puck it can be really easily exploited.

Which, if upon further review, is true... would be actually really neat for some how organizing and creating 'bad luck'. What's it like to be that wrong? Check the spreadsheets again you loving "watch the games" luddite, the stats are very very clear on this. Seattle is great at defense and the goalies are letting them down. It is not possible that the fancystats can be misled, as you know. Hockey is solved. e: turning off sarcasm mode, it actually reminds me a bit of the Mike Johnston Penguins in that they always seemed to look OK in the stats but the finishing was comically bad across the board. Which if you actually watched the games made perfect sense since in Johnston's System you weren't allowed to ever carry the puck more than 5 feet from the boards and the only approved shot was the extremely tight angle shot from out past the faceoff dot and almost on the goal line. Holy poo poo, it's almost like rigid systems that work in college/youth hockey are easily broken down by players with NHL level skill or something Eric the Mauve fucked around with this message at 03:12 on Dec 8, 2021 |

I spent the first two periods of the Columbus game rebuilding my city in Workers and Resources: Soviet Republic after an unfortunate set of autosaves erased my progress, which saves me from being too pissed off about the game, but having "20 shots blocked on top of 30 on net" doesn't erase details like "two goals in seven seconds against".

The New York Rangers have the best points percentage in the league and Ryan Reaves has two multi point games. Pay no attention to the fact that they will probably lose terribly to Colorado tomorrow.

https://twitter.com/Aportzline/status/1468408703099547648 That's the most rear end one-goal loss final score I've ever seen out of a team. Did the Leafs quit skating or did the CBJ genuinely outplay them (30 SOG when I turned it off with, funnily enough, about 10 seconds left, with 20 blocked shots) or what? e- At least they're finally getting some goals with <5 seconds to go in a period to go THEIR way for a change, right? Twitter took me down a hockey rabbit hole just now: This Tweet about Craig Button comparing Kent Johnson's game to Trevor Zegras led me to seeing his insane assist: https://twitter.com/DylanTyrer/status/1468428539963785221 ...which led me to see that Sonny Milano scored the goal: https://twitter.com/cachalfan/status/1468414874048991233 ...which led me to HockeyDB, where Milano has a stat line of 22GP 8-12-20: https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?filter=Y&pid=160599 ...and then I looked up at the top of his HockeyDB page and saw: SoCal is a hell of a drug?
