Holy poo poo Genius Prince is awful they compressed like 10 manga chapters into two episodes and none of it flows. The gags are so executed way worse than they are in the manga. The animation is pretty bad too. Man this is such a loving disappointment

So I know this is like two pages ago but someone in science fiction actually wrote about a gun that shoots forwards and backwards. It was from the little known Star of the Guardians series by Margaret Weiss and it had two features. One, you could take it apart and smuggle it into secure parties and poo poo, and two, it was a feature of the gun that it killed both the user and the target. They called it a Judas Gun, and it fired deadly lasers.

The second ep of Bisque Doll (Dress-up Darling?? not sure what's the exact translation of the japanese title) had put me off a bit because it felt too cheesecake - like I get that the fanservice makes more sense here (given the subject matter) than in your average show, but the male lead becoming a blushing, stammering blob whenever in proximity of boob gets worn out pretty quick, and ep 2 was almost nothing but that. I figured if this would be the dynamic during all the dressmaking bits the show wouldn't really be worth watching, so I checked the manga real quick to see if things got any better. I ended up binging the whole thing and things indeed improve a lot on that front and on most other fronts. what i mean to say is: it' p. good Third ep was good, but I am a bit worried about the pacing. No need to spoil anything, but going at this rate they'll need to compress things a bit if they want to line up the end of the season with any significant payoff in the manga.

Oh they totally were. I really hope they don't cheap out when it comes to showing props and materials and stuff, it's an arts+crafts anime you gotta give me those loving sakuga sewing shots e: oddly enough the school shots which appeared for like half a second seemed hand-drawn? but those are pretty common backgrounds, so no idea if it's common practice to outsource them or get a license from a third party or whatever SexyBlindfold fucked around with this message at 21:31 on Jan 22, 2022 |
