So, that Phife album. My biggest takeaway from it is that I'm even more grateful for the last Tribe album, both for being so good and for just existing at all. Phife's album is basically what I expected that one to sound like -- a mixed bag of somewhat dated production pieced together from a few different phases of his post-Tribe life, with some guest verses obviously recorded after his death and others possibly not. It also would've been way more painful to hear his verses regretting Tribe's breakup (and dissing their last 2 albums) without having that final album as a resolution. It's definitely interesting for all of the above reasons, but probably not going into my regular rotation.

This is interesting. At one level, definitely cute to have a bunch of kids fulfill Wu-Tang is for the children. But drat if it doesn’t drive me a little wild how much of the modern Wu-Tang poo poo is suburban moms and dads. Like I get it, they were listening to Enter the 36 Chambers when it first came out…. Maybe. It’s cool to see far things have come since the days of Shaolin and Brooklyn Zoo, but also its a bummer to see how corny it’s become. Now if those little kids did the entire M.E.T.H.O.D. Man intro, I might be a little more into it.
