I'm a little bummed because I bought a ticket and streamed it yesterday, but missed a lot due to lag. I thought 30-day access to the special was part of the deal but that might be only if you did not watch the live stream because it does not let me view it again

tbh I just want to see Mark roll down the hill again

The $12 Oscar Special ticket is definitely supposed to include 30 days of access. They said they were in the process of replacing the version on the site with a higher quality one, so maybe it's temporarily down or something.

They also said it's now raining heavily and the whole area is washed out. Lucky them!

Though I can only imagine how loving amazing the show would have been if they did it in the rain with that open top VFA van out the whole time

One of my other favorite minor but recurring elements of On Cinema that we got some good shots of last night: Tim berating Larue for being bad at security, and Larue just sitting there nodding and going "Yeah, yeah."

well that's one of the central jokes of the series, everyone they get is incompetent to the point where they'd end up working with a guy like Tim. it was revealed here that Ax & Manuel were just working minimum wage jobs until he offered them money, and obviously LaRue has no real investigative skills whatsoever. even Joe, their "big name actor", only stars in Popcorn Classic type films. Toni on the other hand seems legitimately successful to some degree but only hooked up with Tim because of her alcohol issues so it's no surprise she is the one who sees through the bullshit and is trying to get away from him as quickly as possible

Joe is sharing the screen with big stars like Christopher Lloyd and William Shatner these days. He can't be associated with a two bit production like Deck of Cards

just IMDB'd Joe and holy poo poo, what a quote

quote:

I am basically a socialist. And I don't know where that became a bad word. And I don't know when in the hell capitalism became a good word. People don't understand. A capitalist...will take every loving penny you've got and then kick you to the curb and go to somebody else that's got money. It's supposed to be a good thing, as if our founding fathers who signed the Declaration of Independence welcome in capitalism as a way to run this society. That's not the way it was and that's not the way it should be right now.

Wait is there something actually happening with Joe?

I thought maybe he was busy last night so they wrote that he'd been fired or something, fully expected he'll be back next season.

Maybe it was a schedule conflict. It was worth it for how quickly Tim wrote him off, and declared he terminated him. That was one of the biggest laughs of the night for me.

Finished the re-watch. I liked how quickly Tim backed down once Gregg threw the AMC card. Also during the shooting, the only person Tim asks if they're okay is Gregg, then tells him to get the van and get the hell out of there. It's the co-dependent magic in the sauce.

E: also I just realized that Gregg brought his box of tapes and did literally nothing with them. They were basically brought out just so Tim could smash them with a baseball bat.

I thought the idea was that what he was really bringing out was a big QR code with a link to his site and the box of tapes was just his way of getting it out there and keeping it out there.
