Mandel and that Vance rear end clown make me miss John Glenn as a Senator. When Glenn died my ex-friend went on and on how he hated him for being a Democrat. I was "Um, Glenn was a decent Senator but he was also pretty badass as an pilot and astronaut". None of that mattered. ONLY POLITICS for Xavier. Of course this fine fellow of an ex-friend is a HUGE Mandel fan.

FBI and postal inspectors raided an apartment in DCs Navy Yard. Postal inspectors were investigating an assault on a mail carrier in the building and two potential witnesses identified themselves as homeland security agents assigned to a task force investigating Jan 6. Except they were fake agents who had been providing free apartments and guns to Secret Service personnel, including first family protective detail, claiming it was a special DHS program. 2 Arrested for Posing as Federal Agents, Giving Gifts to Secret Service Officers: Court Docs

If it DOES turn out to be a Russian operation, I hope they change from the norm and keep it loving quiet. This grandstanding/vamping for approval points from Western leaders worldwide trying to appear to care the most about helping Ukraine and loving over Russia is *NOT HELPING MATTERS*. For someone who regards himself as an "elder statesman," Biden seems to be either unwilling or completely incapable of trying to "spike the ball" whenever granted an opportunity to do so publicly. Not all sanctions have to be painstakingly detailed in the press - the more you feed the beast the hungrier and more ravenous it gets. If it needs to be done, do it. Just don't about it in public, for gently caress's sake. BIG HEADLINE fucked around with this message at 17:06 on Apr 7, 2022 |

Biden and his team probably recognize that they need to amplify any win they get because people are not excited about this administration or its accomplishments. Im not saying I disagree with you, but at this point it seems like he has fewer legislative wins than Trump, which is saying something.

Grip it and rip it posted:Biden and his team probably recognize that they need to amplify any win they get because people are not excited about this administration or its accomplishments. That's just the thing, though - there should be a firewall between campaigning/grandstanding and international politics, especially when the latter involves a nuclear-armed adversary currently engaged in a land war in Europe. *Everyone knew* the US was the driving force behind arming/supplying the Mujaheddin in Afghanistan. The reason that war didn't escalate is because even though everyone *knew*, the people who were involved weren't helicopter dicking and shouting about it at the top of their lungs for ~trending approval~ from the masses. Bullies deserve their asses kicked - it's the only way they learn. Russia deserves the benefits of NO doubts or ANY concessions whatsoever for what they've done. But the more it turns into everyone on the playground joining in kicking the bully while they're down, the more likely it is the bully comes back with his father's gun the next day.

New Revelations Raise Pressure on NASA to Rename the James Webb Space Telescope quote:Prior to leading NASA, Webb was second-in-command at the U.S. Department of State. In a September 3, 2021, e-mail Nature obtained through FOIA, a redacted writer notes that archival documents paraphrased in a 2004 history book say, “Webb met with President [Harry S.] Truman on June 22, 1950 in order to establish how the White House, the State Department, and the Huey Committee might ‘work together on the homosexual investigation.’” A large number of LGBTQ+ workers were fired from the State Department before Webb resigned from his position there in 1952.

I just wish they'd stop naming things after administrators. Navy ships have the same problem. If you're going to name the telescopes after people name them after famous scientists (like Hubble, and what they did with the next one, the Nancy Grace Roman Telescope). I would give the USS Jimmy Carter a pass since he was actually a submariner.
