Yo, this thread got me thinking and I had to track down this vague memory of a clown performance I saw as a kid. Like I said above, I have some intense aversion to clowns and circus stuff, but I have no recollection of this performance freaking me out at all... only feeling a deep sense of empathy, of sorrow, for this sad Russian clown left out in the cold.

Bozo has been used as a mild insult across the world for many years and I've often heard Bozo used to refer to people acting like clowns.

Everyone has heard of him even if they don't know the specifics.

Used to watch him every day on WGN (which was a basic cable channel) at 5 AM before school because I lived in mountain time. Show owned so much and I wanted to play the grand prize game so bad.
