So he wasn't trying to hide or anything and just walked into a convenience store where he got recognized by everyone. They chased him out, he tried to steal a car, got hit upside the head by a dude with a fence post and then a crowd proceeded to beat his rear end until the cops finally showed up. Ironically DC pulled it on Willoughby Kipling when someone else wanted to use him in their book and so a third Constantine-alike was created.
