I never played the original so I'm not 100% sure but I think it's intentionally light on the QOL/modernization stuff in an attempt at being a true remake. There is a shared stash which I don't think was in the original as well as maybe a few other minor things. Edit: that said I never played the original and I think it's fun as hell.

Yeah the updates are underwhelming but like, what do you want Nintendo to do about it? They can't force companies to release their games on the Switch Online, and they already put up pretty much all the first party games they can.

Honestly I'm not aware of a straight up bad turtles game. Shredder's Revenge has gotten some positive hands-on previews, can't wait to smash some foot with my man Donny
