I think those outfits are the most 90s thing possible, so the thread can probably end here because nobody is going to find better.

There’s no turquoise/purple combo or the jazz cup in that picture, so by definition it cannot be peak 90s.

The characters of Saved by the Bell always struck me as the worst people.

Also you just reminded me of Jasmine Guy's music career.

And that Lark Voorhees of Saved by the Bell was/is a Jehovah's Witness, developed a mental illness, and wrote an unhinged quasi-religious book: https://www.amazon.com/True-Light-T...&s=books&sr=1-1

Anyone remember 'beavis Christ '? Apparently it was a picture of Beavis on a cross and religious people naturally found it to be offensive. I never saw it myself, but it was supposed to be something that existed.

The text might not be original but this is the image. I remember seeing it in the 90s; it took up a lot more of my screen back then.

It's weird how pervasive and hated Bevis and Butthead were. Even before we had cable my mom was very against them and basically said "If you're over someone elses and they watch this show, try not to if you can".

It was part of the moral panic surrounding MTV generally but also shows like The Simpsons. Which of course just made it more alluring. I very much went out of my way at even 6 or 7 years old to watch it and conceal the fact (and mostly succeeded at it by putting pillows up against the crack of my door to block the light.) It wouldn't have been anywhere near my radar if it weren't for everybody talking about it, since it's not as though I were regularly watching MTV at that age.

I was in 7th grade when we got cable, my parents had no problems with The Simpsons, but MTV and Beavis and Butt-Head we're specifically verboten. I just waited until everyone went to bed and plugged in the headphones.

Probably like the Simpsons and Beavis & Butthead would have been a few years prior, South Park shirts were banned in my elementary school. It didn't help since we were about the same age as the characters when the show came on.

I had pulled an old programmable VCR out from the closet and I figured out how to set it to record at a specific time and got a couple episodes of the first or second season on tape, and then hid the tapes by pulling out one of the drawers under my bed and putting them in there.

I haven't thought about it in years but goddamn I was devious about watching forbidden TV as a kid

There’s at least three different versions of the Regal roller coaster: the 90s one posted above, a mid-00s one with CGI and a very loud popcorn pop at that one point, and then another updated one done in like 2017-18 with newer CGI.
