was the dragging scene really supposed to symbolize a lynching? i'm gonna have to go with the people who think it was just a cool way to kill someone and that there's only so many brutal ways a speedster can kill somoeone.OctaMurk posted:Made of the same stuff that homelandera cape is made of, which can withstand the tension from being pulled by a superhumon heh. glad someone else noticed this

Has anyone voted for 'Homelander gets temporarily depowered AND he runs for President'? I think that could be fun for a season -- him having to play a different flavour of asymmetrical warfare while faking still having powers.

I could imagine a moment where Homelander gets depowered, and in his weakness suddenly notices how beautiful the world can be, right before getting squished.

Or that they made him from genetic material from Stormfront, meaning he's an incestous Nazi loving weirdo with a Oedipus complex. That'd be not only closer to the violence and complete depravity of the show, but a horrendously weird thing to gently caress up his mind, especially given how he was acting in season 1.

OctaMurk posted:Made of the same stuff that homelandera cape is made of, which can withstand the tension from being pulled by a superhumon I actually feel like they're being pretty consistent with Homelander's flight ability. He can fly really fast, but he can't generate much force while in the air. So he couldn't fly against the plane in S1 to move it, he got knocked out of the air by the subway train, and he got yanked out of the air by his cape. He also couldn't just fly up while he was being held down, he had to knock them off him first.

He couldn't stop the plane because planes are made of aluminum. He'd punch a hole through it

He lasered the pilot's console and some of the copilot's, but it's possible that there was still control authority in the cockpit and a manual reversion system since he just hit the screens for the most part. Total loss of hydraulics would mean the control surfaces are very hard to move around... unless you happen to have super strength. Would have been worth a try if there was no other options. But he could fly, so see ya

I'm getting the feeling we won't be seeing another Homelander/SB fight this season and they're actually building up to either Starlight or Hughie releasing the plane video and all next season will be Nothin' To Lose Homelander with The Boys + Boy (or the Boy Boys, as they like to be called) chasing him.

Speaking of, do we know what Victoria Neuman's deal is? She's an anti-Vought activist in her public life, but she secretly exploded a bunch of people's heads in the hearing to get Vought out of trouble. Is she just pretending to be an anti-supe activist so she can get information she can use for her agenda? Maybe I'm just bad at watching TV, or maybe they haven't said yet.

I wonder what the deal is with the politician guy Jim Beaver is playing. He seemed like he was going to be a big part of the season at the start, but haven't seen him since. I think Soldier Boy just walked past a poster of him on the street. It's always nice seeing a Deadwood guy pop up, all shows could use some Esworth in them
