not everything is in hock, but ime people selling stuff to a pawn shop need the money and don't have better options, and since the business model involves paying pennies on the dollar for everything, it tends to be exploitative no matter what idk, my job was just testing and fixing poo poo. i wasn't legally old enough to work in my province, but there's a certain moral flexibility in some of these places.

the one time I need to go to a pawn shop, it was the one place I knew where I could buy one of these cheaply (mine was black): i was moving out on my own, and being economical by buying one device instead of two. Ended up using it for a little over seven years
