Related to the actual game, I do think there are a couple scum in that Gumball vote from Day 1. I probably should have hopped on the train to get them lynched but I was still kinda in the dark in terms of info (as most of us are still, I think) and didnt wanna murder an innocent 209er. Can any of you who voted for Science of Suck/LobMob kinda illuminate your reasoning for doing so? I feel better about Lob Mob than SoS, but its not like I have a definite read on either of them.

Feel pretty good about CarlCX and science of suck. Getting scum vibes from Bluedeanie and ilmucche, but nothing concrete. Bluedeanie is actually hunting scum so in a game like this I don’t really feel like making a case rn. Lots of newbies posting questions that they would know the answer to if they were scum, which is actually a pretty good scum strategy.

My first thought when I came back to the thread was “I bet someone has posted about how merk said i was the most likely vet to be scum, and that person is most likely to be scum since it’s a good 1-2 play after killing merk. kind of surprised to see that nobody did so far!

I think we get a lot more info from voting gumball and looking at who was where on day 1, since we have nothing to go on except "merk was town" and day 2 has been mostly silent

so right now, posts aside, we have only a few actual data points to work with 1) Merk wasn't scum and was assassinated. Carl voted for Merk, but the very first vote cast was ilmucce voting for Merk, even though it was later shifted to gumball. Merk didn't really do anything clear that could have drawn the assassin's knife, but perhaps was targeted for being a more experienced player. Not much to work for there. 2) Gumball's vote list. Gumball was first targeted for randomly voting for DRJ, and just generally flailing around but that snowballed. I voted for Gumball just out of spite because they voted for me. 2a) Assuming Gumball is town, then we need to look at those who voted for Gumball. 2b) Assuming Gumball is scum, we can more or less clear those who voted that way. Now Gumball voting for me when they already were getting dogpiled suggests that they aren't scum, because a) scum presumably can't afford to lose one of their own on the first day, so there would have been some effort to deflect the votes elsewhere rather than vote for someone who already demonstrated spite voting patterns (i.e. me), and nobody stuck up for them; 2) as several have said a day 1 without a successful vote favours the scum. So if the people who voted for Gumball are suspect, it'll likely be the people who turned a couple of votes into a dogpile who are the scum, thus ##vote ilmucce And if I get knifed tonight we know I'm on the right track.
