I think that legally, they can just keep installing new P.M.s until the time comes when a general election has to happen, but in reality, every time they swap in a new one, they get weaker and more unpopular.

See how the Australian tories somehow kept getting away with swapping out PMs halfway through the term and apparently giving the electorate amnesia, until one actually stuck out the whole term long enough for everyone to get sick of him. With a completely pliant media and dumbass voters it's pretty effective, though you do end up eventually running out of remotely presentable candidates.
