I remember people criticizing the falling thing in Prometheus. I can't even remember what it was -- a big wheel? A big tower? In any case, the obvious solution is to run to the right or left so as to avoid getting smashed by the very tall narrow thing coming down on you. But I also recall once when I was like ten years old, we had built this three-story tall fort made out of old pallets, a tree, wood, nails, and anything else my methed-out folks could produce. The front of the fort was this big tall flat piece of wood nailed to a tree, and I did something -- I can't remember what -- and the thing started to tip over. I remember running as loving fast as I could, straight away from it. A step to the right or left would have done the trick, but my mind didn't even consider it, it was just RUN THE gently caress AWAY RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN I always felt people were too hard on the Prometheus gang for doing the same. Your fight-or-flight response shuts down a lot of creative thinking.
