Paladin is a cool job but don't go in expecting the quests to be "so bad it's good", they're mostly just quite dull. (1-30 and 60-70 are fairly decent mind)

That's the issue with PLD: all the decent story quests are the ones where you are a Gladiator.

It's even funnier when you're a male Viera, because they just start calling you a myth to your face.

But the game is kind of bad at accounting for Viera player characters in general, there's a throwaway line in ShB where they explain Viera lifespans to you like you're totally unaware despite being a Viera, and despite it being the expansion Viera were first released as an option in.

Ok, now imagine being a male Rava who you headcanon is from Golmore specifically…

ROG surprisingly high on the list, but then NIN drops back down.
SAM pretty high.
Arcanist you technically are a cop working for Customs, then SMN and SCH just go do their own thing.
CNJ and WHM rather more like Animal Control than people cops.

In the 50-60 SAM questline you play as the Kampeitei trying to stop the Kwangtung Army from restarting the Sengoku Era but with more fascism, where does that fit in the cop scale.

DRG is high on the list of job quests that come out weird if you do them later, beaten out only by doing ARR CUL in early HW.

I spent the last two days hammering out the Stormblood crafting quests while I'm in the .X section. I'd done Weaver as soon as I got to Kugane, because I'd been really maining Weaver throughout HW and was already 70 by the time I got into StB (Likewise with Miner/Botanist, I was 80+ thanks to the Diadem by the time I got to the appropriate zones to finish the quests). I'd done Goldsmith last week and felt like more of that chill, fairly feel-good story you get with the crafting questlines. So yesterday, I sat down and just powered my way through a bunch of collectibles and GC turn-ins to get everything from the mid-60s where I'd left them up to 68-70.

To start, Leatherworker. I had been wondering why there were only a few very specific pieces of taxidermy we could put in our houses, and that explained most of it.

I paid about 200k total for the Carbonweave cap and coat, which is probably going to be my crafting glam for a while. I'd gotten a full set of Handking gear at Rhalgr's Reach, so whenever I hit 70 I'd slap it on with those glams.

Next, Carpenter. Head to Kugane and use our saws to solve people's problems, huh. Well, not sure exactly how I can help a lady's confidence with carpentry... I split this one over two days, about half each day.

Beatin just keeps showing up with wood for wood.

Next up, Blacksmith. I went to buy some GC turn-ins for XP, but they were rare on the market board, going for about 75k. Then I realized, they're asking for Doman Steel, and I'd spent a couple hours a few days ago harvesting materials for Doman Steel. Wow, it's hard getting just the Doman Iron to high quality. Oh, that's why, I'm wearing level 60 clothes, but my tools are in the low 50s, a full ten levels behind the recipes. Well, let's see what it'll take to upgrade to intermediate tools... About 35k each. I wound up doing the BSM quests to 65, getting the quest reward tools, then using those to make the Doman Steel turn-ins I needed to get BSM and ARM to 70.

I only took one picture, because the BSM quests weren't too notable.

Also on the "not too notable" front, it's time for more Armorer adventures with Blanstyr and his quest for relevance! First, I needed to finish the HW ARM quests because I'd left them in the middle. Having to source Titanium after three whole questlines of "Here, take these quest materials and make this quest item. You barely even have to move" felt rude as hell. I bought everything my retainers weren't holding onto in Idyllshire. Then it was off to Kugane again to walk back and forth across the city a few times and watch Blanstyr make his own mistakes. Mild amusement was obtained by having my Armorer gear glammed into the Heavensturn yoroi while Blanstyr talks about the Heavensturn helmets. I took only one relevant photo, as I took a break to do a Fete.

And finally today, Alchemist. I'd been forced to reluctantly put Fantasy CSI on hold until I got more levels, which meant I had to take a moment and refresh myself on the plot as I came back. Fantasy CSI, weirdly incorruptible corpses, a cursed dagger. Feel like that's the gist of things, but I don't know why F'lhaminn's involved-
(MSQ background spoiler, talked about late/post Heavensward)
...Oh.

And then there was the typical problem one has when doing quests across a level range back to back: "We've got him cornered! You go get some rest, we might be in for a siege." *I do not move* "Sorry, he got away..."

This questline just brings into question exactly how corpse disposal works in Eorzea. Like, most of the people we see die dissipate into a cloud of sparkles (or dark miasma if they're evil). But we also need to occasionally pick up and carry corpses, there's a thriving business in graveyards and burial chambers, and sometimes zombies happen.

But anyway, that's all my crafters leveled to 70. I'm certainly not forgetting anyone, certainly not one that hasn't even started the Heavensward questline because I absolutely do not want to source cooking ingredients.

If you've got a combat retainer levelled, you can send them off to get specific monster drops and they'll come back with a stack of them an hour later. Super easy.

I think the maximum is a stack of 15 each time, which is going to be plenty for most crafting.
