I'm not sure what language model Nothing Forever was using but the base models are basically just predicting the next word to form sentences from massive amounts of text data on the internet/social media. The data itself can have offensive content or there can be topics that are rare in the text data that the AI doesn't know how talk about when it comes up. As I understand it, ChatGPT tweaks this base model with human reinforcement where a group of people will tell the AI how good/bad its responses were and the AI adjusts the model. And ofc you can have filters in the text training data as well as the AI output. OpenAI even has their own moderation tools that check the output for hateful or harmful content. I have no idea how much of this is free though for someone just doing an AI project like Nothing Forever.

At this point, saying that LLMs are "just predicting the next word to form sentences from massive amounts of text data" is equivalent to saying that a CPU "only does a bunch of or/and/xor/not". It might be an accurate description of the raw ins-and-outs of the system, but that says basically nothing about its capacities and internal dynamics.

Basically, making fun of the fact that the TERF comedians and bigots don't really make jokes but just put their hate speech out there without any reflection on why it repulses people. Ironically, the AI had a level of awareness about the badness of the whole thing that hacks like Chappelle could never have, especially on stage. I just sat through like two hours of foreverhams and now I'm exhausted from laughing harder than I have in actual years. I cannot believe the poo poo the AI comes up with, it's amazing. This is way funnier than the Seinfeld thing. I have to check my eyes to make sure I didn't burst a blood vessel.

Nothing Forever was fun but it kind of felt like it was trained on ESL scripts or something, or maybe he data from the show was just to broad and made it generic. I think the focus really helps this one. Lots of highlights here but Skinner saying a long prayer for "Steamer clams from the deep" or trying to serve "Jack [pause] O'Lanterns" are standouts.
