That's almost a given at this point.

Probably not, as Frakes has been interested on getting back to front of camera after doing extended guest gig on LDS.

The Arrowverse shows got to a point where they made Picard look like big brained serious works of art and they became a miserable drag on my time. You know what I did? I stopped watching them and did other poo poo with my life.

Hahaha JTT left in the last 2 seasons or so to focus on school, and he's had some errant low-key roles but I think doesn't care much about acting and who wants to be reminded they were on home improvement every media interview or appearance. One consequence of cursing yourself with the show is algorithm notifications and I think he and most other Home Improvement cast appear at least as Cameos on Last Man Standing. I can only imagine that Last Man Standing is even worse somehow than Home Improvement but that is exactly where I draw my line of self respect.

That's the best thing about lovely TV to me. I'm going to have noise on whether I'm working, drawing, playing, cleaning, whatever. If youre already doing other poo poo with your life while the shows are on there's no real need to switch to something good only.

Beverly has the biggest death flag on her out of everyone because of her secret son with Picard and the fact that fridging her with cause Character Drama for both Picard and the kid. So Crusher's probably a dead woman walking.

The rest of the TNG crew stand a good chance of getting out of it in mostly one piece aside from Spiner as well because he'd love another Data* death scene just to really make sure we're loving done with Soong-esque homunculi cropping up in Trek shows ever again.

For me at least, Prodigy hit higher marks than SNW did and maintained a higher average quality. I will say it's close, and that I really liked SNW. But we had more character development, a well-developed season plot, and some very entertaining episodes. Remember the Enderprizians ? I can't think of a better SNW episode.

Eh, The Elysian Kingdom is a pretty worthy competitor to All The World's A Stage. But I agree, I'd put Prodigy ahead of SNW by a nose.

In the trailer you see Picard crying as a ship blows up on the view screen.
Could be Beverly on the other ship sure.
We know Picard goes on 7 of 9s ship, Riker is called Captain in the trailer, so Im hedging my bet its going to be him.

Then again we all made guesses about season 2, and none of us could have guessed the bat poo poo that Kurtzmann coiled onto the floor of the studio floor.

There's going to be a warp core leak and Geordi's going to try to reenact his dramatic roll under the slowly-closing containment door, but break his hip when he hits the ground and the door will cut him in half.

I've heard 10x more about how much Picard sucks than how good Prodigy is, even though Prodigy just finished airing and Picard season three promo stuff went out this week.

EDIT: I'd compare Discovery verus Strange New Worlds and Lower Decks, but I'm not sure how much being a fan of Discovery affects my recollections of how often it comes up versus Strange New Worlds and Lower Decks.

It's because Prodigy is a children's cartoon, which is not a knock against it, but some people are just not going to watch media made for children.

I do watch kids cartoons if I think they're good but honestly I thought Prodigy never really got above "acceptable" and I'm still surprised by the love it gets in this thread. It's fine, I'll probably watch the next season while I'm doing something else, bit that's about it for me.

Light Picard S3 spoilers:

I’ve seen a handful of reviews now that, despite everything Matalas and the cast have been saying, imply that the full TNG crew doesn’t actually appear together in full until the end of episode 6. Which, if true… :laffo:

Someone in marketing also spilled the beans on Ed Speelers’ character’s name; Jack Crusher. He’s also been mentioned as having an English accent. Which again, if true, absolutely hilarious for Beverly to name her secret son with Picard after the husband he got killed.

Picard's so bad, it has to look up to see hell.

IDK, I'll probably watch S3 just because it's 10 episodes and then it's over. I had hoped they would right the ship with S2 after how bad S1 was. Then S2 happened. I don't really have that hope for S3. I'm not going to get fooled by Matalas' astroturfing campaign. If he makes canon anything really nasty like a main character getting killed in a gruesome or stupid way I'll never forgive him.

A lot of the positive press around Picard S3, including a few things people involved in its production have said, veers uncomfortably close to “[we’re/they’re] giving real Star Trek back to the fans!!!” territory for me, ala Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Rise of Skywalker, etc.

I can’t remember who the reviewer was exactly, but someone summed it best as “I never asked for six hours of meaningless hey-remember-this fan service, I only asked for competent writing and if this is what they think Trek fans actually wanted then it’s both insulting and deeply depressing for the future of the franchise”. I’m paraphrasing, but you get the gist.

If good writing is off the table and the choice is between "Things You May Or May Not Remember From Star Trek" and "Abysmal Season 2-Style Misery", I'll take the nostalgia jerking because at least I might have a good time somewhere in the mix. Also Picard is clearly and has been since about midway through Season 2, not the future of Star Trek but the last gasp of Star Trek's dwindling past. Terry Matalas isn't the man with the plan to lead Star Trek into the future, he's the caretaker at the retirement home waiting for his last charge to expire and then shut off the lights and go home. Mike McMahan, Henry Alonso Myers, and the Hageman Brothers are the folks who have Trek's future in their hands. Michelle Paradise is also maybe somewhere in the same zip code along with them, by WAAAAY off to the side so she isn't seen with the cool kids.
