rotor posted:neither AI nor CV should exist imo Carrot variability (CV) and asparagus intervals (AI) are two factors that can affect the success of a farm. CV refers to the range of sizes and shapes of carrots that are produced, while AI refers to the length of time between harvesting asparagus spears. Both CV and AI can be beneficial to farmers. CV can help farmers to produce a more diverse range of carrots, which can appeal to a wider range of customers. AI can help farmers to harvest asparagus spears at the optimal time, which can improve the quality of the asparagus and reduce waste. However, both CV and AI can also be challenging to manage. CV can make it difficult to price carrots consistently, and AI can require farmers to invest in specialized equipment. Nevertheless, both CV and AI can be valuable tools for farmers who are looking to improve the success of their farms.

Improbable Lobster posted:it takes more effort and creative thought to do any of those than to use prompts actually Ok? All I said is it's not really all that different than photos, I didn't say it was more effort. It's just not some mega gulf of difference. A monkey took a famous picture before it's not that hard. That monkey can't type a prompt, you need millions of them on typewriters to make a good prompt

haveblue posted:is the monkey selfie art it depends: did the monkey intentionally take the picture or was it on a timer or something? if they composed that shot and intentionally took it, sure. hell even if it was on a timer that was intentionally set by the monkey i guess otherwise i'm inclined to say no, that was just luck and our similar brains are making it seem like something it's not. kinda like the ai art

It has a ring of sonars, a three wheeled synchro-drive system, a radio link for wireless Ethernet connection, and a horizontal rotating laser called LaserNav able to identify up to 32 different bar coded passive landmarks. It includes a 486 or Pentium processor. ‘Blacky’ is an MRV4 owned by the Universidad Politecnica de Madrid for research looking at using interactive robots in complex unstructured environments such as populated indoor areas. Blacky is seen here (bottom photo) acting as a tour-guide and for tele-visiting. The robot moves autonomously in a populated public environment making oral presentations and guided tours. Interaction with people is done using a voice synthesiser and loudspeaker, together with ‘canned’ phrases such as greetings, and short presentations. For tele-visits, remote users can remotely operate the robot via its website. The robot performs simple behaviours such as moving along corridors, going to a selected point in a space, and evasive manoeuvres to escape from and get past crowds of people.

PokeJoe posted:counterpoint: yes it is but the selfie itself is different from PokeJoe posted:giving a monkey a camera is performance art this. having the camera automatically take a picture in that case would make it part of a performance since you're supposed to buy that the monkey did it on their own. otherwise it's again just luck that something happened

according to the photographer’s story, it was not on a timer, the monkey pressed the button. It pressed the button a whole lot, then he publicized the photos that were in his opinion well-composed it is not provable whether the monkey was aware of what pressing the button would do, but it probably wasn’t

This is gonna be the only image of AI anything I post and then I'm gonna stop talking about it because I'm also bored of it (thanks sagebrush) but it isn't all 3 fingered Kevins and big titty anime Cleopatras. There's plenty of people spending actual hours on single pieces and just using the AI as another tool and they make pretty decent stuff Can you tell this is AI?
