the pixel remaster for VI is pretty good and is widely available but it's hard to beat the classic being emulated on snes9x the only PRs I bought are II and III because those probably are really the best versions of them, especially III

The script translation made for the GBA version by Tom Slattery, which was used again in the Pixel Remasters, is better than the Ted Woolsey translation of the SNES version, but they're both excellent. The SNES version also includes some minor gameplay bugs that were fixed in later releases. However, in terms of content they are equivalent (the GBA version has some extra postgame material but it's not worth mentioning). Most find the SNES version the best-looking and the Pixel Remaster the best-sounding. You can't go wrong with any of them. I suggest you choose based on your gaming values.

The GBA version is good because you can play it on the 3DS with the patches which make the sound and colour look acceptable and the 3DS is the perfect JRPG console
