Rewatched the movie and there's a single joke I wish had been made but wasn't. When Gathers, Rusty, Vatred, and Gary are all doing their best split-screen Voltron, adding another wedge of Monarch screaming as Ventronic's careening head would have been icing on the cake. If I had to guess, it was suggested and shot down for robbing the scene of tension, which is ultimately the right call.

It would have been too close to my second favorite gag in the series: the Monarch spiraling out of control when he goes SUPERNOVA!!!! wearing the Death's Head Panoply (the final solution in tailoring).

I forget, did they ever reveal who was in the Bear costume? I think I got it in my head it was the brown spider guy but I don’t remember. Also, in the flashback with Bobbi St. Simone leaving Jonas, her daughter was wearing a jacket I feel was a specific reference to something, but couldn’t place to what. Also, loved that Jefferson had the paintings from scatman’s room in the Shining in his bedroom, then Kubrick showed up in another part of St Simone’s flashback.

That's a fun video. I think it came up once in the thread but Venture Bros and Metal Gear surprisingly have a lot of overlap. Super science, mid 20th century pulp sci fi/espionage, clone brothers, stupid superhero names + gimmicks that old men cling on to, etc etc

Saw the movie tonight; it were excellent. I'd be happy to see them make more. Or not. More than anything, I'm just pleased a show this consistently good exists. Yeah, Love Bheits is probably the least of all episodes (and even it has some funny bits) outside of the pilot. Guess Who’s Coming to State Dinner has Lincoln’s ghost absolving a lot of its sins in my book.

The reaction to whatever sunchoke isn’t as haha funny as some but it had a huge amount of looks into the main characters lives and personalities. Like Rusty and Dr Mrs sitting talking about the old times and whatnot as well as 21s attempt at water torture and all that dumb poo poo is just so good taken as a part of a greater whole. I think that one has the ‘I hate myself more than most people hate their arches.’ bit.

finally watched the movie. it was like, definitely a max budget version of three episodes as a b and c plots. on one hand i really wish there was clear resolution, but the show kind of exists in a "who gives a poo poo about the actual implications of this world and character arcs" realm so the ending didnt feel bad. just made me realize how long ive been invested in this show and how much it changed and how much ive charged. i could see them maybe getting one actual Last Season but knowing doc and publick they would still end on an inconclusive note so idk. its a good show. i liked it.

yeah it's been said before how various season finales felt like they could have been series finales, and that's cause I don't think VB is the type of show where they are going to absolutely definitively end things to the point of like, flash forwarding to show Hank and Dean grown up and married with Rusty retired or whatever. it was always going to be like a "there's more adventures to be had but we've seen this slice of their lives and we know they are going to turn out okay in the end" style ending

If I had to pick the worst episode, is Dr. Quymn, Medicine Woman. Just that whole episode rub me off the wrong way and Dean being forced by two girls was just nah. just nah.
