I would like the Jays to clean house and also to not hire kenny Williams and to somehow get my friend Alex back to run the team.

The Cubs booth was ungodly salty about Acuña wanting the bag for his 70th steal right then and there and like, I get that it's a playoff race and it's marginally disrespectful yadayada but it just seemed like a lot of dumb preening over nothing. 40/70 is an absolutely ridiculous achievement, and both Acuña and the home fans deserved to enjoy the moment. If he'd done it at Wrigley then yeah it would have been lovely but it was in Atlanta for gently caress's sake, calm down ya boomers.

Anyway congrats to Atlanta on (I think?) securing the best record in baseball, the Cubs are dogshit garbage. Please Mariners score more runs.

Orioles can get #1 record if they win out and Atlanta loses all their remaining games. (This will not happen, probably on both counts)

100% agreed but between that, the weird bit where Arcia got in Candelario's face over nothing, and their season imploding in real time I'll be shocked if the Cubs don't look for any excuse to clear the benches tomorrow. :sigh:

Astros now have 11 players with 10 or more HRs which ties a franchise record and looks absolutely meaningless compared to the bombing the Braves have done

As a guy who watched a lot of braves baseball in the 90s it’s strange to see them dominating on offense like this.

Hitting coaches can't teach you how to sign generational talents from poverty stricken backgrounds to long term significantly below market contracts

He didn’t even look at the pitcher while celebrating and rounding the bases on that home run. This is MadBum-levels of red-assery for a pitcher to hold a grudge and start poo poo about.

Whatever he didn't hit him or anything (which is hosed and I've always hated pitchers retaliating that way). I've no problems with it.

Edit: I'm obviously biased but taking a step back I'm pretty positive I'd have the same opinion regardless.
