I found it an obvious parody I mean, “parody” in the strictest sense of the word. I don’t think Ben is trying to pass this off as an original idea. It’s his boomer rear end trying to appeal to his newfound 4chan friends with memes, something he did a lot during the 2016 election when he realized the Nazis editing his cartoons were good, actually.

Hell given how much his art has declined it wouldn't surprise me if he thought it was an original idea and he just didn't remember where it came from.

Yeah it’s a bunch of bored office people pretending to be heroes. They “save” children by…buying them. From traffickers! So they literally engage in trafficking justifying it with the same logic as someone getting a dog from a puppy mill. And the head guy has now been accused of sexual harassment and…grooming! It’s always projection.

McDonald's can't even keep a loving ice cream machine working. They expect them to be able to make something that can cook, assemble, package, and serve various configurations of hamburger, and also fries and fish and chicken? I bet you that poo poo wouldn't even go a day without someone making GBS threads themselves inside out because of botulism due to cross-contamination.

If I recall, the ice cream machines being crap are part of an intentional deal with the company that makes them. Either to save on the machines and make repairs the franchisees’ problem or because the maker intentionally sell cheap crap and McDonald’s not being that concerned about ice cream/shake sales to bother going with a different company. It’s not incompetence, or rather it is but the intentional, lowest-common-denominator poo poo you expect from capitalism.

Yeah, that is true. But ultimately, I don't think it matters if the machines are cheap garbage that work poorly on the rare occasions they work at all because of malice or incompetence. There will be a lot of factors in play that result in "just get a robot to do it" not loving working. Hell, I remember reading an article ages ago (I no longer recall specifics) about robotics projects being designed in a lab, and immediately making GBS threads themselves when they're deployed, because hey we built a super cool fruit picker robot except whoops the sensor has to be kept clear of moisture, which is kind of a problem for a device deployed in an orchard and not a clean room.

It's the first one. The company makes actual reliable machines that it sells to other fast food outlets. The Mcdonald machines have a sub 70% uptime and the design flaw that causes them to break is known and could be re-engineered. McDonald's has a contract that requires franchises to go to the same companys for repairs that are extremely bloated costs. The whole thing is an elaborate way of charging a hidden franchise fee. There is even an illicit firmware patch that fixes the problem (from what I remember it has to do with how the machine fills itself freezing with the cold temp) that both the company and Mcdonald aggressively crack down on.

So McD's would buy the lovely robots that constantly break down and cost the franchise owners thousands of dollars to fix (and if they aren't fixed in X amount of time they're fined by McD's)?
