The thalassowary overall has a body shape halfway between that of a sea turtle and a penguin; the powerful legs are important for swimming, as the vestigial wings have been slow to take on the role of flippers. The crest has been streamlined, with the nostrils moving gradually upwards, much like a blowhole. I actually looked up what that bird is supposed to look like to see if someone edited out the beak or something. Nope, it's just like that.

I live with a 35 year-old white capped pionus parrot. Turns out, he seems to like watching special fx movies. I have my iPad angled for him. We’ll see how he feels about the last unicorn tomorrow. Lots of flute in that movie. Don’t know that there is as much movement as, like, guardians of the Galaxy. Bored has a new favorite as of 06:27 on Nov 19, 2023 |

You don't need money for toys. Our cockatiel is like a cat; we stopped buying actual toys for him a long time ago because he never looks twice at them. Instead he loves paper bags, paper towels, pieces of cardboard, and plastic shipping envelopes. I hope you can keep improving his living conditions.

Instead he loves paper bags, paper towels, pieces of cardboard, and plastic shipping envelopes. He was very offended when I put cardboard in there for him. I can’t tell if he enjoys the spritzer bottle that I’ve spritzed him with when he is flirting/begging (but I better not consider opening the door because he will have to get scary). He did enjoy it when he was already splashing around in his water bowl and I spritzed him, and he has been looking better since I’ve been here, I’m pretty sure. His blues are much bluer. Wish he’d let me take him out so we could see if he’d prefer to soak up the steam from a shower or get under the shower. He was not interested in the bigger bowl of water I put down for him last week, just so he’d actually be able to fully sploosh around if he wanted. His mom says she takes him in the shower with her from time to time. I’m guessing it’s been years. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHcAOlamgDc

I don't understand biology. Surely that bird must have burnt more energy with all that flapping than it could have gained from that one scrap of food.

Seeds are super calorie dense and bodies are really efficient with energy It's why it's easier to lose weight by eating less rather than exercise
