Much like buttholes, families are meant to be tight.
Eliza Dushku looks wayyy different than I remember, and she is horribly miscast.

I guess the serial killers are satan worshipping Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka

FBI agent Eliza Dushku is pretty hilarious smoking crack out of a lightbulb.

Calvin Bunker is going to have a meltdown and it will be glorious.

Man I'm pretty disappointed with the whole serial killer arc; I was hoping the show would actually make this interesting. Satanic cult or whatever is such stupid bullshit, and of course the FBI agent has a meth problem. The back half of this season better be loving insane.

Yeah all I could think about how she was killing it in those heels. That said the serial killer angle for this last season is weird. It's Banshee though so I'm expecting it to go full crazy. I would have been totally okay with them just going full neo-nazi for this season.

Eliza Dushku Status: Still terrible

Only four episodes left and they just brought on about 4 new characters. Not a lot of time left for hitting people. I'm still waiting for Hood and glasses guy to fight.

You'll hit your head and say: 'Boy, how stupid could I have been. A moron could've figured this out. I must be a real dimwit. A pathetic nimnal. A wretched idiotic excuse for a human being for not having figured these simple puzzles out in the first place...As usual, you've been a real pantload!
I think there's still another swerve coming in the serial killer arc here. Just giving away the Satanists as the killer of Rebecca has got to be a curve ball because if it isn't, why not show them to us in the beginning and build them up for 2-3 more episodes before everyone figures it out. You'd also think the FBI would be know who they are, and they'd be among the first suspects.

While witnessing Carrie cleaning house it hit me:
She would be perfect as desillusioned, cynical Lara Croft in her thirties, just killing her way to whatever plunder or revenge.

FBI-girl was really good since i expect her superior attitude to be pummeled to a pulp as soon as the big players decide she is worthy of their attention.
I agree that the pacing is kinda slow, but i have no doubt the payoff will be insane.

    Thoughts:
  • Episode title was maybe the best thing about it.
  • First thoughts on the intro scene: Banshee is now Hannibal. But oh great, more horror movie violence against women. This is totally what we wanted out of our silly fun '80s movie action show. :smith:
  • "I knew that was a lie too!" Oh, Brock. Poor sweet innocent Brock.
  • Job's "Don't leave me alone" moment was tough to watch, genuinely emotional. I'm also sad that he's still out of his fabulous outfits.
  • TV loses a kinda disappointing Black Canary and gains a cooler one! Not sure why the excessive eye makeup is part of her vigilante costume though. But man, Ivana's got a great stonefaced action movie expression. When she's running from the explosion she looked like a beast.
  • I was hoping Job would run in and save her.
  • Never seen a flamethrower like that before, was it based on something real and functional or just silly prop?
  • The quick fist fight in the drug lab was edited really choppily. Feels like we haven't had a good fight scene this entire season and we're halfway through.
  • Burton eating ice cream is somehow creepy as gently caress.
  • Is Eliza Dushku on crack? Of all the addictions to give her...?
  • Feels like Kai Proctor has done gently caress all this season (again HALF WAY THROUGH) and it's sad.
  • What was up with Forehead Bumps, anyway?

There's also the sense, based on the two brief flashbacks to Rebecca's last night, that the MO of Rebecca's death varied from the other three women. She was likely done right there in the woods as opposed to an altar, and as I said before, I can't shake the vibe that Rebecca knew she was surrendering herself. So yeah, I think there is absolutely a swerve coming here.

I wanted each episode to kill off a main cast member with an amazing fight because that would be Banshee as gently caress. Just a terrifying countdown, till it's like Hood and a vengeful Burton beating each other to death in the wreckage of the burning town.

Instead we haven't had any big fights, and the only major character killing so far happened between seasons.

Hardness and strength are death's companions. Flexibility and softness are the embodiment of life.

That which has become hard shall not triumph.

That was a terrible episode in a lame season.

It's pretty obvious that they ran out of ideas after last season and just needed to drag this finale out. Turns out the short final season wasn't due to a crazy breakneck pace to the finish line, it was because they're meandering lost and just want it to end.

Sooo here's some stupid food for thought... the satanic dude's back tattoo (inverted cross) is the opposite of Proctor's back tattoo (christ on the cross). Satanist dude also has bumps (horns) on his head whilst Hood has that drat dent in his forehead.... just sayin. :v:

Also I think the term "Banshee" refers to the spirit of a wailing woman (Rebecca) that announces someone (Hood) is about to die. Also Carrie with the flamethrower = the fires of hell

BRING ON THE MOST UNCLEAN, THE ADVERSARY, THE FATHER OF LIES, THE WICKED ONE, THE LORD OF DARKNESS FOR KAI, HOOD, AND BURTON TO FIGHT.

That's what I thought too. I was amped up for the final season to be an unhinged Hood finally cleansing Banshee of Kai, especially after how bananas the previous seasons have been. And maybe Rebecca/Burton takes his place, because crime is like weeds or whatever.

Nope. Could it beeeeee

It was ridiculous because it has her surrounded by a burning meth lab and has an obvious Oh poo poo look on her face. Cut to Job freaking out in the car, then magically Carrie is out on the lawn while the lab explodes. It was like a corny deus ex machina moment.

VV Is it? so it's just bad editing?

I find it hard to take Dushku seriously in anything as she's not a good actress at all. When she introduced herself and showed her badge and all that in the station, I cringed inwardly because it was so cliched and I feel like she's playing the same character she plays in every other show she's ever been in. The way she said "violent crimes..." was ridiculous.

All in all so far I'm not all that enthused with this season and they really need to make some poo poo jump off. I'm sticking with it since it's the last season and I love the show so much that I want to believe it's going to get better and go back to the Banshee we know and love, but I'm losing hope.

I remember, and it was even worse in the actual episode for some reason. They try too hard to make her "cool" in stuff, and she tries too hard to be cool and say things in a cool way. I literally would have liked that scene (and her character) better if she had just walked in and gone, "Hi, I'm agent (whatever the poo poo her name is) so-and-so, FBI Violent Crimes" matter-of-factly and business-like. It would make it easier to suspend disbelief and also make it cooler when Hood inevitably lays that pipe in her because she'd be business-like, no-nonsense, and standoffish to start.
