I had a video of that when I was about 6.

I remember it being shit.

This is incredibly sedate. Just let three off the front at 0m to get a gap in the first 10 km, then sat TdG and a few other diesels on the front to hold them at sub 4 minutes.

Then absolute meditative calm.

what.
Echelon alert app.

Real hard stage already and a big climb in the middle. Could split hard if one team really pushes it.

Was "supposed" to be a possible break winning stage too so a lot of teams want to be up the road anyway

Break isn't winning today now imo. its either going to slow down a lot or keep going like this to the first categorised climb.

If Caleb's hosed himself off he better just be being careful in the hope of still making the tour and the vuelta.

This is probably just made up so he doesn't get criticised for quitting no? He was basically saying he was going to quit in the post-race interview yesterday.

Don't see why he'd have to make something up, sprinters abandoning the giro after the first week sprint stages is fairly normal

though i will note that the press constantly ragged on Cipollini doing this at the Tour de France to the point where the organizers refused to invite him, and yet when McEwan constantly did that poo poo at the Giro nobody cared. Anti Italian imo

It's pretty normal to go through the pretence, especially when wearing a jersey. Start the stage, oh no my knee hurts, get in the team car straight to airport for a pre-booked flight. I remember a few years back Greipel getting criticised for just openly pulling out without going through the charade.

Not that it matters either way tbh

Smirr

I think the jersey is the big thing, yeah

There's also two sprint stages coming up before the real hard poo poo happens at Zoncolan

Greipel was different because the press hated him, and by "press" I mean British people
