I was just reading about a similar project on Chris Loves Julia, a blog with the dumbest name. They found some interesting decals on Etsy which they used on the floor. The bathroom is not to my personal style, but it was cool to see the transformation.

The terms you're looking for are Hollywood Regency and Art Deco. If they were being true to the time, that vanity would be lacquered :P

Look up the work of Dorothy Draper.

There was also a revival of the style in the 80s, so you might be able to mix in and find some more recent pieces. Those items from the 20s-30s at this point are now antiques and hard to find, but not as popular so you'll have less competition than some Danish MCM

Staging is mainly to show the proportion of a particular sized bed to the bedroom, dining table to the dining area, sofa to the living area, etc. and to decorate it to make it feel less sterile, not to fully furnish the space. Staging companies have a set amount of furniture (which apparently always includes an Eames lounge chair) that can be requested by the realtor/owner.

I'm not at home right now, but you can google them. They have a Roman numeral on one side and a sex position on the other. No one is a hundred percent sure why they were made, but best guess is they were basically semi standardized tokens for various brothels, like if Chuckie Cheese and Dave n Busters shared a currency. There were a shitload made so they're surprisingly cheap.

In any case, there's only one question they have to answer: did you bring booze. But if you answer wrong, the ominous bird paintings come to life.

The Zillow search of the day is "regency"

like 90% of Regency styled houses have been gut-renovated into a generic "modern" aesthetic (mid-century Regency is closely related to MCM and Art Moderne but it doesn't really line up with 21st century tastes) so I had to cast a wider net here.

first of all, I trust that everyone here has seen this house, right? Pretend I posted every single photo from the listing. https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/2055-S-Joshua-Tree-Pl-Palm-Springs-CA-92264/18030011_zpid/
someone actually bought it last year and is trying to sell it again, but for $700k higher. Looks like they renovated the kitchen (which is fine as it was a bland 80s kitchen before) but didn't do much else to disturb the time capsule.

https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/1415-31st-St-NW-Washington-DC-20007/429861_zpid/ English Regency built by Boss & Phelps and designed by Harvey Baxter (1941) - completed just prior to the US getting into WWII.
note the wall sconces, that's a theme in everything regency

a mudroom so nice I'd feel bad about getting mud on it

https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/14-Ridge-Rd-Troy-NY-12180/32245551_zpid/ French Regency (Revival) built in 1976, completely over-the-top but I kinda love it

of course

https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/240-Sandpiper-Dr-Palm-Beach-FL-33480/46843047_zpid/ it's better than what this poor Gottfried Regency from 1976 was turned into.

these kind of blinding white void houses always remind me of the Eyewitness Video intro

https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/257-W-Indies-Dr-Palm-Beach-FL-33480/46842921_zpid/ more Florida cheese, this one built in 1961

https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/520-Stonewood-Dr-Beverly-Hills-CA-90210/20522486_zpid/ 1970 Hollywood Regency, stripped down but not too badly, add a bunch of knick-knacks and it'll be good as old

https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/234-Scudder-Hill-Rd-Roxbury-NY-12474/2080812158_zpid/ I have no idea what is going on here except that it has Hollywood Regency wall sconces.
