E: and before you ask, yes the big brake options will still clear 18-inch wheels just fine.

If they are anything close to the 370mm brakes on the F3x platform then only some 18s will clear them. My old style 135s did NOT clear the front calipers. Your choice of aftermarket wheels is also limited as not all will have a large enough barrel to clear. I know for sure that Fast FC04 and Apex ARC8 will clear.

What VIN decoder do you guys use? I've been using bimmer.work but the past few days, it either tells me I've used all my free lookups for the day, or it goes to a screen that counts down from 15, reloads, then counts down from 15, over and over.

She seems to be mostly twitter based, but here's her artist email for those who don't twitt.

She is amazing with reflections and shiny surfaces, I'd seen her work via various mutuals/car twitter last summer, and finally got around to buying a slot. Very happy with the results.

Wow, incredible.

This weekend I went down a research rabbithole because my passenger window doesn't quite retract into the frame and now, besides a little bit of tolerable wind noise, it has begun rattling annoyingly at every bump. And today I finally realized it's not the window it's a folding ice scraper in the trunk loool

In Mypos, only the strong survive.

^ That artwork is fantastic.

Since I hate wasting tires, I always wait until I wear down my runflats before replacing them. Since I bought my 2 series a week before the pandemic started, and then my job shifted to fully teleworking so for the first few years I didn't put much mileage on them. At any rate they were finally worn down to the point I didn't feel like I was committing waste and replaced them with DWS 06 Plus. Really like them so far.

I'm super delighted with the result. It looks even better in person. Well worth the commission, I'd seen her work on Twitter 6-8 months ago and had been meaning to get something done and finally decided on which pic I wanted to use. Took her about a week to do it, and she sent progress pictures which was very interesting to see from an artistic process standpoint. 12/10 would (and probably will) buy artwork from that artist again, I'm waiting on the frame to arrive and then it's going to be a tough decision to figure out exactly the right location for it. I'll take a picture of it on the wall once it's up.

I thought I'd posted her twitter but I apparently left it out of the first post - @Hannughh on Twitter. Killer talent.

Looking for leaks around my water pump and discovered that one of the balance shaft end caps is leaking. Nothing crazy yet, but I'm gonna order those and hold off on the water pump and heat management module till I have them. They seem to be a super simple thing if you're in there.

Both of these can be true. N54/55 however? Just assume injectors and coils and plugs all need to be done and while you are in there make sure you do the oil filter housing gasket and valve cover gaskets and...

The most important question being unanswered here is is it blue?

Speaking of non-M's, I have a copy of this Haynes manual for them. If there's someone here who could use it, just pay shipping and I'll send it your way. I know everything's online now, but some people still like to have the book, right? Figured I'd put it here before I throw it on eBay.

M car superiority? In this thread?? I drove my 20+ year old M3 (at the track) over the weekend and no fewer than 4 interior panels came loose or fell off. Sunroof controls, A piller, C piller, and door latch trim panel.

The glove box didn’t fall out again because I’ve screwed it shut.

I know nobody gives a poo poo about Non-Ms and that’s cool but I finally got our X5 50e after a 7 month wait and it’s fuckin great. Exactly what I wanted, a big comfy mile muncher that does all our driving on electric and can be fast if I want it to be.

The new DAP or w/e it is that drives itself on the freeway is loooooooovley. Having a self driving car in Seattle traffic is a game changer.

Anyways, respect our elders but some things about this new crop is pretty great.

There was a Lotus Esprit in my run group so I thought maybe the car was going full Chapman by adding lightness.

The water pump and cooling system has about 1000 miles on it so it should be good for another weekend or two.

In the first age, in the first battle, when the shadows first lengthened, one sat.

He chose the path of perpetual contentment.

I love my non-M E88 135i. I didn't want a track beast or a flickable roadster. I wanted a mini muscle car that comfortably fits my absurd legs and expanding girth with just enough back seat area to fit my dog.

It's a tiny road trip machine that makes beautiful but not excessive noises. It's almost two tons of car crammed into a subcompact sack and I wouldn't want it any other way.

Least it wasn't a fucking red shell

Sigh. I guess I'm enjoying my new-to-me non-blue M4. 2016, 80k miles, DCT, LED headlights, and it doesn't have a black leather interior, it's amaro brown extended instead. Shadowline trim, some real carbon fiber parts, and some cheesy fake parts that will be getting removed or replaced back to stock. It has new 295/30 NT555s out back and PS4S up front. I thought it was a relatively good deal for $36k.

I had a 2004 6MT M3 coupe a few years ago, and this is a pretty good upgrade so far. Having experienced the SMG transmission, I was leery of the DCT, but it has been exceptional. This car feels sort of like an extension of that car in a way, in that I've already ordered a new coolant expansion tank because the current one is weeping. GDCS never changes.

I bought a 2016 last year for about the same from an old man who didn't know how to drive and got in a couple fender benders with it. I didn't like the F80 when it came out (fake cabin noise, no more V8), but it's a pretty great performance bargain at this point. I briefly looking into 981's but at that price you're looking at base models which, while cool, are not fast.
