My phone with a jack had waterproofing like 2 years before iPhones did and considering that was really the only feature I cared about and the phone itself was 1/8th the price, lol They're not waterproof but you can submerge them in a meter for like half an hour and they'll be fine. It's fun running a faucet over it and watching people trip.

Do you know how many loving iOS apps refuse to allow you to install or update an app because my loving town's newspaper app refuses to let you install on anything lower than ios12 on an iPad Pro for fucks sake? And why am I not allowed to use YouTube in my iPad 2 any more when it used to loving work? They don't let you update it either. I don't even know what weird poo poo the Apple haters in this thread are going on about now. So weird. The new Macbooks have USB-C ports only, which is a whole other can of worms because I don't think a USB-C only laptop is ready for primetime just yet. I don't really like the design of the newer Macbook Pros at all, which is why I'm sticking with my old 2013 model forever. A laptop with USB-C and USB-A ports too is the way to go imo, but Apple is very far from the only company pushing USB-C heavily. Even on phones I think USB-C is dumb and generally a hassle since it still represents a tiny fraction of the number of cables and ports that devices use. Micro-USB certainly has its issues but at least it is loving common and finding a cable or charger is fast, cheap, and easy.

USB-C is more than fine on phones and tablets because it's a reversible, easier to use faster charging cable that isn't slow as balls for data transfer like old rear end micro-USB. It's absolutely what all phones should have going forward... but legacy USB-A ports should still stick around on laptops for quite some time until you don't need to pull out an adapter for that older hard drive, printer, or mouse that everyone has.
