I run SyncRPG, and produce original, digital content for the Pathfinder RPG, designed from the ground up to be played online.
as for my own scifi watching, i've started up the x-files again. i watched until season 6 and then stopped because of holiday traveling, and didn't start up again until this week for some reason.

can't wait until scully teams up with the t-1000.

one of the best babylon 5 episodes ever followed two repair dudes just talkin' about their lives and fixing poo poo while the station was under some horrible generic attack. the main characters are shown in the backgrounds doing whatever they'd be doing and the two mooks are the center of attention the whole time. at one point they are directly addressed by one of the main female cast members for their service, and the other ones kind of roll their eyes and mutter something about "why bother talking to them?!" but the mooks are extremely happy to be noticed.

best part of that ep: one of them is using some hover vacuum device and asks 'what the hell does this thing even do? it's not like it's cleaning the floor or anything.'

it'd be cool to have a star track show about repair dudes. like the dudes that have to go do EVAs to patch up ships, and like space tugboat pilots.

no this would be so goddamn boring

faceless repair guy gets a call
*puts forcefield on gaping hull hole*
*replicates new bulkhead, beams it into place*
*sets up holo-orgy with holo-troi, holo-crusher and holo-dax (holo-jadzia and holo-ezri)*

9 hours later zoom out to reveal that the repair guy is riker, roll credits

See, this is why people read playboy for the articles.

Literature is not exhaustible, for the sufficient and simple reason that no single book is. A book is not an isolated being: it is a relationship, an axis of innumerable relationships.

According to Haldeman's notes in his short story collection Dealing in Futures (which is where I first read it):

quote:

Playboy didn't care for the title. I suggested "Tom Swift and His Electric Penis", but for some reason they decided that the original one was okay after all.

The collection also has "A !Tangled Web" in it, which is worth the price of the book alone, really.
