After a lot of mucking about in Unity trying to get movement animations in I found out about 2D blend trees so now I have decent movement animations (Some of the in-betweens are messed up but other than that I'm happy!!)

I spent hours at a time building sweet off road tracks using clay and driving matchbox cars around on them. Super pumped for these games. That figure 8 especially, reminds me of Super Off Road for NES which I loving loved.

Judges will treat it as it's own category. Due to the way we're doing judging this year there is no "Highest score" everything is rated from one to five, whole numbers only. The deliberations will be used to rank the top 12 games (2 top picks per judge), and nominate them for category awards. Keep in mind you can only win a single category. But in the instance of a Unity game winning "Game of the Year", that Unity game will likely be the top contender for" Best Unity Game" as well. Day 13: With some advice from a few folks in chat, I have revised my game. Things now start off much faster, and I setup some various appearing intersections: Tiled is a cool thing. Tomorrow I think I'm going to try and get the final destination made in my horrific art style and code a rudimentary detection from the game ending.

Attacking is now (sort of) in, also got the basic level stuff in so I can now work on actually making this a game! Having a blast so far even if I have to step poo poo up if I'm actually going to finish this on time! (A wiser dev would probably prototype the actual gameplay before going crazy modelling and animating poo poo but heeey)

Gameplay Actually it's a shmup where you can't shoot, and instead of shooting you defeat enemies by hitting them, and hopefully launching them into other enemies which in turn might hit more enemies etc (Basically playing pool but on a bike with a baseball bat) actually typing this out it's like literally the same game as polo-rican but more of a traditional scrolling arcade shmup (please don't sue me) Edit - also totally didn't see Poemdexter beating me to my own joke Svampson fucked around with this message at 23:38 on Jul 14, 2015 |
