The J7 are basically good for as disposable bomb trucks in permissive environments or as decoys/cannon fodder. This isn't a permissive environment. Using them as decoys and cannon fodder would let us get thru crew rotations faster, but the new rules are going to make that happen anyways. If we discard them we probably won't do any worse for a fighter.

The Intrepida would at least provide another radar, some protection against attempts to board the Tokyo Bay, and shore bombardment. And it'll retain its resale value better than however many J7's survived.

I don't know how to make this more clear. Voting to discard the J-7 is a waste of a discard. We're unlikely to get something much better and already have 2 reasonable candidates in the Fighter category. Discard something else.

What on earth are we comparing the two biggest shitheaps in the pile for? We'd be making a mistake buying either of them. The J7 has no good comparables, every other aircraft has it beat in every way. The boat may as well be a zodiac.

This vote isn't about losing the opportunity to buy something (unless you are a hardcore boat lobbyist in which case please sink), it's about what we want a reroll on.

As a reminder on voting.

You get three choices, they may all be the same choice. No need to vote for a category you don't want. If you don't like any of the support options, don't vote for any of them.

We could end up with two flights of Mirages, or two flights of F-16's. Warcrime lobby could vote for ALL SU-22's. A coordinated lobby could have us end up with three botes (unlikely, but hilarious).

Eukie gave me some vote tallying methods to check out so it may not just be goonrush and go.

I'll do the redraw in a few hours, so get in your discards.

All things being equal, we'll see how the choices shake out. If it turns in sperg minmax simulator I'll be sure to add more comedy options next time. I tried to be fairly even between comedy, normal, and decent. But next time we may just get crap, slightly better crap, and slightly worse crap.

I feel like we've got reasonable options in the A2G and A2A realm that we can vote for, so I'm cool with ditching either the lovely AA or the lovely patrol boat to get a reroll there. The only support option I like is the sub, and that's primarily because I'm a full member of bote lobby and it'd give us some really neat sea denial options that won't be so neat if we're facing off against solely air and ground opposition.

What this gets us is a nice mix of planes with a clear engagement strategy:
1. Zoom in and fire off 12 SARH missiles, then gently caress off.
2. SEND IN THE DOGFIGHTERS.
3. Carpet bomb everything.

The F.1CEs have 4th gen agility mod so they're the best dogfight fighters we have other than the F-16DGs which are too few in number.

Frankly, the F-16XLs are useless and I'd rather have Fitters but I'm sure they'll get a lot of useless votes for EXPERIMENTAL PLANE whoa, and we're going to be carried by our Intruders anyway.

e: Changing my vote to DGs instead of XLs as that's the way the wind seems to be blowing and the DGs are waaaaay better.
