I'd say it counts:

quote:

Thompson further explained that a friend had "left him with a bag of unknown powder substance" which he assumed was a firework that had been taken apart. Thompson and Burgess decided to light it, according to the charges.

At first, police say they lit a few small batches that resulted in a small flame and noise. Burgess then allegedly lit a bigger pile. The ensuing explosion "sent small flaming particles into the air, some of which embedded into Burgess' leg and arm after burning off some of his hair," the charges say.

Responding firefighters heard the blast from their fire station five minutes before they were officially dispatched, according to the charges.

Can you imagine if it was the Bainbridge-Seattle route? Those ferries are huge and unless it changed recently aren't rush hour routes still escorted by Coast Guard dingies with .50 cal machine guns on the rears? I remember seeing them chase off smaller boats that might annoy the ferry, I wonder if they would have lit this poo poo head up.

I didn't notice the .50 cal dinghies my visit over the holidays. MARSEC was at level 1 (of 3) and I want to say that whenever there were armed coast guard escorts it was at least level 2.

The man behind the popular science-focused YouTube channel King of Random has been charged with two counts of second-degree felony possession of an explosive device for allegedly conducting incendiary experiments in his backyard.

Jonathan Grant Thompson, of South Jordan, was charged Tuesday for two separate events involving an explosive. He was not arrested.

An initial court appearance has been set for Feb. 21 in West Jordan’s 3rd District Court, according to the court docket, which says a summons will be issued.

When reached by phone Wednesday afternoon, Thompson said he had heard about the charges from media and fans on Twitter. He was upset and confused about the allegations.

“It makes it seem like I am a irresponsible YouTuber who is blowing stuff up,” he said.

He's lucky the DA isn't bumping one of the counts up to first degree for setting said kid on fire.

I thought him loving with uranium would be hit first.

Granted, Cody's Lab is just a dude with (what seems like) a lot of free time and a chemistry degree that he would otherwise not be using. Why not film his own crazy 'whatifs'.

WIth King of Random, I noticed the last few I bothered to watch had some other person in front of the camera, does that mean the king has fallen and is already in jail considering the reports are from June last year?

Snow freezing on trees and causing them to fall on electric lines has recently caused a lot of trouble in Finland. Two weeks ago one bystander who was watching loggers clearing an electric line was badly burned when a cable fell on him. Today two woodcutters were injured badly in Riihimäki while working too closely to each other with clearing saws. When one of them cut a tree it fell on the other cutter who lost his balance and swung his saw toward the guy who felled the tree on him, who in turn swung his saw at the other guy. According to reporting all of this was accidental.
