Some nice loving fixtures (and results) this round. Of course I picked the wrong one in Samp-Lazio, which was actually pretty good, but Fiorentina-Napoli was tasty. Now if Inter can defeat the mighty Lecce tomorrow that would make for a great opening weekend. drat I missed this poo poo.

Playing friendlies against the Hong Kong XI or whatever Juve did this summer obviously isn't the same as playing a Serie A match against Big Gerv and the boys but he looked slow and sloppy on the ball. Serie A is probably a higher standard than Ligue 1 as well so there's also that. I have no doubt that Rabiot is a talented footballer so you're probably right, he just needs matches.

Giampaolo said he got the system completely wrong in his post match conference and that he has to start over. Guess 3 months of olannng and friendlies wasn’t enough to figure it out. Who would have thought that Suso as a trequartista, Castillejo as a second striker and Calhanoglu as a regista was a bad idea? Wow! A tactical genius!

Petagna is a good lad who works hard, but it'd be a waste for him to go to Inter, I think. I guess if he wanted to take another shot at making it at a big club, I couldn't fault him for that. I just enjoy watching him because he's got a big personality and puts in a shift, so it would be a bummer if he just sat on the bench at Inter (or anywhere).
