Directed by: David A. Prior Starring: Ted Prior, David Campbell, William Zipp Deadly Prey (satisfactorily filling the void of action films during the late 80s) is the thrilling tale of Mike Danton (a spectacularly mulleted and quite elite Vietnam veteran), bludgeoned and kidnapped (while taking out the garbage) by a group of crack mercenaries. These dangerous men - under the command of Vietnam veteran Col. Hogan - are trained to be the best by taking innocent people from the streets of LA, taking them to a secret training ground in the steaming jungles less than 100 miles south, sending them into the jungle barefoot/unarmed and hunting them down in groups of 20 while armed with rifles. Suddenly it all goes wrong for the dogs of war when Danton (clad only in a pair of tight denim shorts and so heavily oiled you can see your reflection in his rippling pecs) bites back. A cunning plot twist reveals that Danton was in fact trained by Col. Hogan himself! This training was clearly exceptional as Danton kills his foes with twigs, emerges unscathed from grenade explosions at his feet and remains unseen by passing soldiers by standing on a tree branch six feet above the ground. Lets put it this way: Deadly Prey is so cringingly bad that it comes full circle and is ENTERTAINING. Go watch it. You'll thank me later. RATING: 5.5 PROS: Mike Danton chopping off a mercenaries arm and BEATING HIM TO DEATH WITH IT CONS: None (best film EVER) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092848/ dawio fucked around with this message at 20:40 on Jun 1, 2004 |
