The return of the St.Trinnians school for girls on the big screen in a rehash of the story of Belles of St.Trinnians. The basic plot premise is that the girls in a bid to save the school from going bankrupt, they decide to steal the painting of The Girl with the Pearl Earring and fence it via Flash Harry (A woeful Russell Brand). The painting is in the National Gallery which also 'luckily' has the finals of an inter school quiz tournement, which the girls cheat their way through to the finals as cover to the heist.

Overall? It tries hard. Rupert Everett who along with Colin Firth have resurrected this British Institution of a movie try hard and you can see it in their acting, they want it it to work, but it doesn't quite make it. Alistair Simm as the headmistress is irreplaceable, while Rupert E makes a good go of it, he doesn't quite pull it off.

Worth a watch if you have nothing better to do, or you like to ogle pretty young girlies in school uniform and suspenders....
