http://cleveland.craigslist.org/cto/3825912532.html Possible gold? Could be a fun project car, but I wouldn't pay $1200 for a rolling chassis, even if I had that kind of free money (tbh, NE Ohio used car market prices are all kinds of hosed up).

Coredump posted:Well its either hilariously overpriced turd bucket that someone thinks is worth way more than it is, and thus got posted. Or its a cool quirky car that someone has a fetish for, and thus got posted. Pretend its a CYOA and pick which ever option makes you happy. That describes like 99% of the cars on craigslist here in NE Ohio. I think I've even seen a car (with photo) that was resting on it's roof, 90's model, rusty, asking price north of $5,000 because "the engine is still good."

crossposting from terrible; NE Ohio is terrible for used cars. I'd really like to find a cheap project car, but all I can ever find are stuff like this: http://akroncanton.craigslist.org/cto/3922345929.html

http://akroncanton.craigslist.org/cto/3994918657.html Two Yugos, one runs, one is a parts car, 600 each. I'd probably pay 600 for both if I went for them. http://akroncanton.craigslist.org/cto/3982453613.html This on the other hand could be fun.

Not sure how I feel about this one: http://akroncanton.craigslist.org/cto/4099494148.html It's a little unclear about whether the car is actually put together or not, it seems. I wouldn't mind a bug like this, but not sure I'd want to pay $2,500 if it's still in pieces (mostly because I don't have a place to work on a car at the moment). Solar Coaster posted:More Seattle awesome: I would buy this in a heartbeat and DD it, unironicly of course.

I'm always wary about "1 of 1" cars on craigslist. Like this: http://akroncanton.craigslist.org/cto/4149734758.html quote:if you like m3, 318, 325, turbo then look at this.

Toucan Sam posted:This my brother in laws old car. He was the third owner, his step dad who is a Canton cop was the second. They purchased it from the original owner with all documentation. It was fast as poo poo back in the nineties when his step dad still owned it, my brother in law kind of inherited it and by then the turbo was removed along with the gauges by some lovely local mechanic. The holes in the dash where they were mounted were still there. He had all the turbo parts in a box in the trunk. It was having a running issue so the mechanic decided removing the turbo would fix it. It did but the car was way less fun without it. He drove it a couple years until it finally started oiling the plugs every other day and he parked it. I replaced the driver rear window twice due to break ins and my brother in law once. It had standard BMW wheels on it and he is the one who put the aftermarket wheels on it. The factory, ugly, wheels were stolen from his shed by a crackhead a few months later. I put a heater core in it back in the early 00's. It was a fun car and i'd like to buy it but not $3000 buy it. And this is what I love about SomethingAwful. If that car is what you say it is (and if I had the money for a project), it would be hard not to buy it. Thanks for sharing that. Of course right now I'm just looking for a winter beater, and it'll be a few months before I can start looking at projects.
