Recently I was turned on to Supreme Beings of Leisure. I'm not even sure what genre they are, this is way out of my metal comfort zone but I like listening to them. Oddly enough someone pointed out that some of their tracks sound like the kind of tracks on the Persona 3/5 soundtracks and I have to agree with them. Maybe it's the ?electronica? sound of it with the female vocal lead kind of thing? I don't know. What else can I pull up on Spotify that sounds like them?

Supreme Beings of Leisure are usually described as trip hop. Massive Attack and Portishead are the two similar big names, but if you look around in that genre, you'll find other stuff.

honestly unless you want me to list a bunch of dudes who only ever put out one split which im not gonna do because im lazy is to just like look at related artists in last.fm because emoviolence is kinda an imprecise genre with alot of blurred lines between what's that, what's screamo, whats going on in grind scenes now, etc.

Well that'll get you one or two albums, but in my experience gifting people music is tricky because they may already have those albums. Another option you could go with is to buy something based on them being a guitarist. If it was me, I'd just get them some relatively expensive guitar strings because they end up getting used, or at least tried. If you are interested in that route, you just need to know if they play acoustic or electric.

Modern psychedelic folk with solid catchiness/melody. I am familiar with (and really like) Ty Segall, although he's not strictly psych folk, some of his stuff applies.

I was playing around on Bandcamp, and came across Trevor Something. Really dug his stuff, so I bought everything (side projects too). Any similar artists? I like 80’s new-wave, but sometimes I find the lyrics too comical to take seriously. I’d like that sound with a new generation of lyricists.
