All observable signs of progress are pointing in the right direction, he's showing good interest in water but isn't thirsty enough to start chugging away since he's got the fluids. He's peeing and making the right postures (i.e. he isn't laying in it and isn't standing weird) in the litter box and he's grooming himself afterward so the little guy seems to be getting some big ideas about making it through this. They can't leave him on the IV all night, but they're gonna have water in his cage and hopefully he'll have drank some over the night. He's down to 2 pees during the day, if they've been pushing lots of water that's a good sign that his kidney distress is resolving somewhat, otherwise he'd be peeing more, his system constantly flushing water through useless kidneys. Blood test will be Wednesday, but hopefully tomorrow morning the phone call says he drank water overnight and is looking better than today. Guarded optimism is the word of the day and you can't spell guarded optimism without optimism.
