Anybody seen TTNG live? I just moved to Chicago and live within long walking/short bus ride distance of the venue where they're playing.

I've seen them at least ten times live, it's always worth it especially if it's in a nice small venue where they can chat to everyone watching. I still miss their old singer(s) but they're still great and it's a nice relaxed atmosphere.

They're touring with Mylets and Emma Ruth Rundle at the moment I think, which is a lineup I would LOVE to see.

Listened to this the other day. It was certainly interesting, but it didn't scratch the same itch for me that Pink Magick did.

That's my feeling with any math rock band ever. Except maybe Goodbye by Toe as that girl's voice sounds really good with the music somehow. (Though I don't know if you would consider Toe math rock, but they are really awesome nonetheless and I wish they would come out with some new music already)

And I guess the vocals in this new And So Watch You From Afar isn't terrible

I'd never really listened to any math rock before until about half an hour ago when I listened to the Tero Melos track in the OP. Then I listened to the whole album Drugs to the Dear Youth and it was loving amazing. That's my story so far.

Which Tera Melos album do I listen to know?

Patagonian Rats imo. Then go find a live concert on youtube because watching nick stomp pedals like a mad man is hilarious.

Thanks for mentioning this, I went to check which song I put in the OP and I noticed there were a few broken links, so I fixed them.

Same!

Alright, I'm looking for some suggestions. I really love Maps & Atlases' Perch Patchwork, it's one of my favorite albums ever. They hit a beautiful middle ground between the typical math rock of their first release and the poppy indie rock sound of Beware and Be Grateful, and the diverse instrumentation is just great. So what else is out there that scratches that same itch?

I should say that I'm a pretty longtime listener of math and post rock and have listened to just about every band from Sargent House and Richter Collective. I guess that's not leaving a whole lot left, but I'm getting desperate at this point...

I would do my best to go if it was in the US. It's definitely got the best line-up of any festival that syncs up with my taste in music.
Almost got the motivation to try going last year, but drat if planning an international trip isn't a gigantic pain in the rear end.

If anyone here was a fan of You Slut!, their drummer Daz Cook is currently working on a solo project called Panji & The Buffalo and has released a song.

https://panjiandthebuffalo.bandcamp.com/releases

He's also got an indiegogo campaign to work on an EP: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/panji-the-buffalo

I'm probably going to throw some money into it when I get my paycheck tomorrow since I really loved both YS! albums.
