 It's the mid-1990s and you don't have Internet or BBS access. You have never played a custom Doom level until the day you go to Wal-mart and get a D!Zone CD. Excited, you bring the CD home and insert it into the computer with trembling hands. You use the custom launcher to load up a random level, expecting some near-id-quality gameplay. To your dismay, this map was designed to look like a giant cock and balls and only has one texture and half of the monsters were placed so that they are stuck in walls and the other half are cyberdemons who are right in front of the start point. This is it. This is the D!Zone Experience. time for all pro ycsers to play some bad doom levels. using a doom source port such as zdoom/skulltag, record yourself playing a level, preferably one that you have never played before, then upload it to youtube if it's bad enough to be entertaining. its more fun if you add commentary w/ youtube annotations. THE WADS here are several compilations of old wads, many of them are Stinkers D!Zone 1 wads (Doom 1 wads only) D!Zone 2 wads (both Doom 1 and 2 wads) huge wad collection jewmander found feel free to find wads from other sources such as http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/ but keep in mind that a lot of the old wads on there are already in the above compilations. if you have heretic and want to play bad heretic wads, that's cool too WADS THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN REVIEWED ITT some level with no name (also no sound lol) tigerden mike82 again mogollon radplant technoi2 thissuxx stairway (feat. beavis sound wad) jailbrk zeus fiffy the_best whare15 urbnbeta cybie2 idk what wad this is but it owns 7thsign2 part one 7thsign2 part two VIDEOS FROM THE OLD THREAD kent22 21hex_pn luckout tnspires celeste woody mc_shock foxhole yourded2 building tower2 medman27 keep hope2 amanda2 theatre jail xfire2 mike82 trampas weezul12 impzone2 wedding wicked goodluck execute dethstar arena widowmk2 gdnt uaclabs (columbine dude's level) ringdeth nasty 2god2 melt5 e1m1osku RECORDING TIPS this is what i do: use fraps or whatever the OPEN SOURCE equivalent is. if you're using fraps, set it to half size and at least 30 fps. load up the wad, hit whatever key you set to record, then hit it again when you're done. for me using fraps it generally leaves me with a 2-3 gig avi file. if you played long enough to get split files it would be too long for youtube anyway then drag the fraps movie into windows movie maker and select save movie file. most of the default settings are fine, bump up the video quality to 768kbps so that it doesn't look like a total blur, then in a couple minutes it should spit out a wmv which you can upload to youtube have fun! for hd vids on youtube record fullsize at 1280x720 or 1920x1080 at 30 or 60fps then process it in virtualdub with x264vfw codec (google it bitch!!!) nothing looks more gorgeous than unfiltered doom in true HD. i'll make some more vids at some point i guess
