Would it be cool if he had made a fun joke about helicopter rides but with a to show that it totally wasn’t serious? Even on a non-critical surface, the ongoing oscillations even before V2 would likely disrupt airflow sufficiently to annoy the (uh, paying) passengers & crew and possibly create a rapid, unplanned disassembly of the airframe early in the flight.

Now most of you have seen these before, but I had to dig them up for aircraft carrier submarine Also, found pictures of the *other* cool looking six engined prewar French flying boat: Maybe Airbus should reinstate that...control....hydrant? Seriously, in the middle, what the hell is that

The Latécoère 632 is right up there for 'best-looking aeroplane of all time'. I love how long and low-slung it looks despite its size. Like those Art Deco posters where the stretch the plane/train/car to give the impression of speed, but realMrYenko posted:Looks like it, plus I think the compass is at the top. loving binnacle in an airplane. Apparently the 'turret' in the middle was where all the hydraulic controls were gathered - three-axis trim wheels (presumably the 'helm' is one of those) and the levers for the flaps and retractable wing floats. Although that is a compass and pelorus on top, for taking bearings when afloat!

The retractable wing floats are rad. Latécoère made some nice looking planes. I also think the 298 is quite good looking.

I think the thing that's going to keep more people from going up in warbirds is going to be the liability insurance and how much it's going to inflate the ride prices. Riding in the Bombardier seat in Doc or Fifi is probably about to become the purview of well-heeled doctors and lawyers only (with the occasional raffle winner) - not just "dudes who have a few thou to burn."

Are they retractable? Did they flip because they forgot to raise the gear? Just making pointless speculation.
