I can't click on anything. Might MaAcffee work better? Before I updated my brother to Windows 7 he had McAfee. It sucked up an amazing 182MB of RAM whilst doing NOTHING. I switched him to MSE and it uses 5MB of RAM even whilst scanning. You decide what's better though. I also like AVG which despite the crazy update recently also consumes very little system resources.

I'm a salesman at "The World's Best Computer Store" so there's all sorts of fun stuff I could recommend, I'll start with a couple things I sell a lot of. Logitech Harmony 650. Really you can go with any Harmony remote but this is the cheapest one that still has a screen. You could go with the 300 but without a screen you can't keep all the functionality of the remotes you're replacing, which kind of defeats the purpose of having one to begin with. Anyway these remotes are very easy to set up and once you have one you won't look back. I use it with my TV, AV receiver, HTPC case, Xbox 360, and cable box. Logitech Dinovo Mini. I have gone through so many goddamn HTPC keyboards, finding this was like a lightbulb coming on. The bluetooth functionality allows it to resist all the interference that plagues this setup typically. Yes, it's a $115 keyboard but you won't have to buy another one. The other cool thing about the dinovo mini is it has two modes, keyboard mode and media remote mode. Keyboard mode allows you to browse the web, rename files, really anything you'd do on a computer. Media remote mode allows you to use the device with media portal and other software like that without having to spend the time to program a whole different device. It just works. And you can hack the logitech setpoint software to assign the buttons how you'd like. RaoulDuke12 posted:gently caress the sodastream. Man I just got back from the gym and I have to post about the new Marware iPhone 4 case I got. First off all it's awesome because it's an actual case that can convert between a regular case and an armband case without needing to remove the phone from the case. Secondly, when you do have it in armband mode it doesn't flop around at all like you might think a huge honking phone would. I could barely tell it was on my arm. Paired with my Sennheiser sport headphones (which I already posted about a while ago) it really is the perfect workout setup. Thirdly, I am using it with a Verizon iPhone and it only took about a minute of filing to make the case work. I could have left it as is but the mute button was pretty hard to move. I took a sliver of plastic off and the whole button was exposed. I still find it hilarious that that's all Apple would do to make a market for Verizon vs AT&T cases. Probably because the phone is "too beautiful" to have any major modification. And lastly, you have two choice of backs for the case. You can either have the plain back or one with a belt clip (clip back required for armband use). The clip also functions as either a vertical or horizontal stand. The clip/stand function is also really nice for when you're using an Arc Trainer or exercise bike and want to watch videos. I opted to just have the clip back on all the time because I am an EMT and it's more convenient. For funsies I clipped the phone onto my steering wheel and it stays. You could probably also pair it with one of those sticky dashboard mounts and watch movies whilst driving if you're crazy. ...of SCIENCE! posted:I need some good work shoes/boots. They all kinda suck as the FCC limits the antenna strength. I like the Griffin iTrip which you can get with just an auxiliary jack. If you want really good sound my advice is to get a new car stereo with an auxiliary jack which really isn't too expensive. You can get one for $50 plus wiring harness and it isn't hard to install.

melon cat posted:Just bought an mp3 (Sansa Clip+). I need an FM transmitter and a mp3 player dock that doesn't suck. Any suggestions? Any FM transmitter basically will work. The FCC (?) regulates how strong the antennas inside can be so they all work equally as poorly. Honestly I would just recommended getting a new car stereo. I know that sounds drastic, but I have spent more buying FM transmitters than I did on my stereo. You can get a decent one that has an AUX input for $50 and they are easy to install. What kind of dock are you looking for? One that just charges the device? One that has speakers? One that has a clock?

I've spent wayyy more money on FM transmitters then on my ipod stereo (which I installed myself). It's ridicously easy. I just googled Toyota Echo stereo install and got step by step directions with photos to taking the dashboard apart. It took an hour, including beautifully splicing the wiring harness with the stereo wires and cost $160. It is worth it, believe me.

iPhones are awesome, even for high level tech users. Not everyone has to break everything. I have no problem sticking within the limitations. Don't get me wrong, there are definitely annoying things (20mb download limit) but the hardware/software integration is worlds above Android (because Apple makes both).

I'm on the ground floor of my apartment, and while I have a back patio it's surrounded on three sides (not including the side that is my apartment) by trees or other apartments. The affiliates for the area are all ~50 miles away too, so combining those I need something with some power and probably something designed to be indoors. Is there a go-to antenna or brand for this sort of setup? A friend of mine is also shopping around and said that this antenna from Mohu is pretty popular (though he doesn't own one), and $38 seems pretty fair considering I'll be saving about twice that every month if I drop my cable. How much of an HD signal can you even get over-the-air? Enough for a 16:9 aspect ratio at least?
