Any thoughts on the new Atmosphere album or Heavy Metal Kings (haven't listened to the whole album yet because I'm bumping "Children of God" on repeat)? I'm sorta enjoying The Family Sign, haven't totally absorbed it yet but I don't think I enjoy it as much as When Life Gives You Lemons or the recent EPs.

Also wondering if anyone liked Kill Devil Hills. I didn't really give it much of a chance, none of the songs seemed as good as Ill Bill's other albums.

The Family Sign is probably one of Atmosphere's better albums to me. It sounds like a halfway point between When Life Gives You Lemons and the earlier You Can't Imagine How Much Fun We're Having to me and it strikes the balance well.

This old NOE track (Byrd Gang affiliate) got me thinking, did Cam invent finishing your bars with the sample in the beat? Starting with Oh Boy, all the examples that spring to my mind are dipset related but I might just have some selection bias going on.

Nah, I remember even Run DMC would do that.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8oNOAXJDJio

But now that you mention it it's a pretty common kind of thing from Cam and Dipset rappers, probably because the Heatmakerz style of beat always uses some old RnB sample.

He puts out a hell of a live show; there was a poo poo ton of energy from him and his possee even if the crowd was kinda confused (I think they came for Smoke DZA?). None of them knew his music, but it was still a sick concert.

I also saw Wiz Khalifa live last night, I don't think he did a single song with a ski beatz beat :(

hey everybody i dont have anything new to post but i jammed out so hard today to Juggaknots "Clear Blue Skies" album (or more truthfully the re-release of that album, aptly titled "Re:Release") that I felt it necessary to declare it "hey everybody go listen to Juggaknots again" day or week or whatever, whenever you can get around to it.

here is some reasons why to do what I say:

I could listen to Trouble Man on repeat for at least 20 minutes and for some reason Breeze's verse about giving birth to a rhyme turns me on:

You can't really judge places like that by their website. I spent 90 days sitting down in a place with a real fancy website- didn't really reflect the, um, reality of the experience. Mine was in Cali, not on a drat Island either. Who knows what goes on at a place like that...

Plus, here in FL kids get killed at these "Youth Ranches" on the regular. I don't know anything about Coral Reef Academy but I will say that regardless of how hard or easy it is I wouldn't want to get sent to some goddamn island for an unknown amount of time, run by a bunch of huge rear end Samoans, away from all of my peoples.

Looking around on google i see "youth ranch" applied to everything from christian camps, to "family help camps", to state correctional facilities. I'm sure horror stories from some don't apply to all of the others.

Yeah, but i'd bet you it's a whole shitload better than being in jail/prison (or one of those "youth camp" correctional facilities). I'm assuming once he's 18 there's no way for them to make him stay there, since it's a school that his parents sent him to (at least that's what it looks like judging by the website). The criteria for admission to that place include things such as ADD, depression, academic under-performance, and difficulty making friends. Considering that, I really doubt it's a bad place. I guess i could be wrong though, and the website is a lie, and it's actually run by people who love terrorizing kids and destroying them mentally.
