I've enjoyed the Progressive insurance ad ridiculing the awful Chevrolet commercial premise.

MadDogMike posted:I heartily despise all those drat Grammarly ads that pop up every time I go to YouTube. Can't you show me some OTHER thing I'm never going to buy instead for the five seconds before I can skip? Hell, you'd think if we're being tracked online every second these days they could start figuring out which ads are constantly skipped by somebody and design a way to swap in other ads that might work better. You can click the flag on Youtube and Twitter and say that ad isn't relevant to you although who knows what it shows instead is "better."

Maybe I'm just a jaded white guy in his 30s but this ad annoys me to no end every time I see it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYb9As684l4 Pepsi even trying to prove their wokeness credentials after the Kylie Jenner fiasco by including a trans person doesn't help.

Both him and the musician have negative charisma Peyton used to be ok but after the success of whatever ad 10 years ago where he talked about his "laser rocket arm," everyone in marketing/advertising must've thought he was so hilarious and now he won't go away.

Fabulousity posted:Here's the commercial in question: https://www.ispot.tv/ad/o_hL/audi-q5-road-closed-t1 Have you seen American truck ads in like the last 20-30 years and all the bonkers manly stuff they and the owners who buy them can and presumably will totally do, like dropping concrete blocks into the bed, towing multiple Porta-Potties down a highway or a cruise ship into an active volcano? If they'd actually shown her busting through the construction zone and going up the mountain like it was Pike's Peak thanks to the brilliance of Audi Quattro® then ok yeah that's dumb and maybe legally sketchy but her thinking about doing it and the construction worker seeming skeptical is kinda seemed kinda harmless imo. I mean here's a recent ad for a loving Kia touting its awesome AWD capabilities that seems just as likely to be driven off-road as the Audi and although it's marketing BS for both Audi at least is kinda known for its well-regarded all-wheel drive since the 80s and rally racing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LMgV0lwuNdc

I've come to the decision that the latter has taken the lead. It is literally the most annoying thing I've ever heard in my life. Every time the Big Hurt mentions the name of that product he’s shilling, which is frequently, I wonder if he’s aware of the connotation of something that sounds eerily similar to “eugenics.”
