you're better off using taxis since most of them have gone flat rate. if you're looking at cheaper options on the strip, TI and Linq are usually some of the more affordable ones. Also consider Circa if you're gonna stay downtown, its easily the best one in the area for your dollar.

if you're talking 20 minutes walking your only options are strat or tuscany or ellis island, everything else requires an uber or a car. vegas is not a Walkable city.

I mean its pretty pedestrian and locals focused but if you're looking for something between a motel 6 and a nice resort in a quieter area it probably fits what they're looking for.

Who owns the empty space to the North of Resorts World? Basically, what's the story on it? How come there is this small empty piece of prime real estate?

Its been kind of a dead zone since the early 2000s. Back when the frontier, westward ho, stardust, and riviera were around that area was a lot more bustling with even some off strip casinos in the area. El rancho basically sat dead for a decade and then in succession all of those casinos plus the desert inn all went away and that basically killed all foot traffic and business in that sector.

Is the cheapest place to book a Cosmopolitan room through their website?

How does the Vdara compare? Saves about $1200 if getting one of those on air bnb vs cosmo's website, but no terrace.

vdara will be a lot cheaper if you're going through air bnb and still a great experience

Passed on visiting for the MTG event later this month but I saw Alice In Chains are playing Planet Hollywood in October, band I'd really like to see (or at least Jerry Cantrell now) and dunno if they'd ever come to the UK again. Just glancing at prices for that night as a starting point, including the better rates I get from TI for being on their Loyalty program or staying with them before, I think I'd be looking to stay Downtown. Has anyone who's been recently got thoughts on this plan given the road works for F1 etc? Probably over thinking as I can head down hours ahead and have plenty to do in the meantime but I like to be thorough, even when I'm looking at something impulsive.

And how is the performance space in Planet Hollywood? Anything I should think twice about?

Not a bad seat in the Zappos theater, the strip is awful to navigate right now with the roads being torn up in advance of f1, staying downtown or off-strip at say the palms or a similar casino would be your best call.

industry secret: the lowest bowels of the Flamingo still uses the original concrete escape tunnels bugsy seigel had made so he could escape if the mob ever made an attempt on his life on the property. the exit is found in a hidden staircase near the bird sanctuary. the space is used mostly for restaurant storage and the main a/v room that controls all the tv sets on the casino floor.
